Default mods not helping at track!! someone help

After I put my mods on (listed in signature) I noticed that the car didn't seem much quicker. I went to the track yesterday and prove it.

Best bone stock: Best with mods:
60' 2.211 2.245
330' 5.920 5.913
1/8 8.906 8.851
MPH 82.46 84.04
1000' 11.450 11.360
1/4 13.600 13.480
MPH 104.82 106.40

Also, when I was driving home from the track I noticed a howling sound between 45 mph and 60 mph. It went away when I pushed the clutch in. Could this be the throw out bearing and could that be my performance problem. Also, when I installed the headers I had to bend the A.I.R tube, that ran from the intake to the passanger side header, so it would fit. If I damaged that during the install would cause my pour performance.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Looks like your car spinning it's azz off. If you can hook, you won't go faster.

Thanks for the reply!

However, I still have a couple more questions. Does my trap speed of 106.40 mph seem reasonable to you? It seems kinda low to me. I was expecting to be close to 108 mph. Also I read the post titled "NO GAINS!!!" and someone mentioned that after a header install the car could be running rich. Do you think this could be a problem and should I invest in a MAFT?
THANKS!

P.S. sorry I didn't realize that I didn't show my signature in my last post.

I would definately atap if you can. I've heard adding headers can make you go way rich...robbing you of 30+ hp.

Compare the 1/8th... You are going faster.

Try autotapping to see what your #'s look like.

Make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks from the AIR pump that will hurt your lowend power quite a bit.

It looks to me like you've found some nice gains. Keep in mind that if you would have gotten a decent 60' time (2.0x or so) you would have run around 13.0.

Was the weather similar for both runs? You'd be amazed how much weather can slow you down.

Weather and location can also have an effect.Elevation and temperature can kill your times. In the middle of summer I ran 13.5@106 bone stock with my SS.A couple months later in the fall I ran 13.1@108 still stock and cooler temps. I would still get some tuning. Get a set of BFG's on 16 inch take offs and you will see a nice improvement.

Thanks for all the replies!

To answer some questions: The days were very similar and the runs were at the same track. The only exception is I THINK there was a stronger head wind on the day with the mods. On a side note: on the day with the mods, there was a 2001 Z28 (M6) with only an MTI lid and filter (same as mine) on factory tires runnig consistent 13.40 @ 104.?? (1.97 60'). (apparently he knows how to drive and I don't )

Well maybe I have high expectations but I don't think the car pulls hard enough and I was hoping for trap speeds around 109 mph. To make a long story short (I know, too late), I ordered Atap and a MAFT today. Hopefully that helps. I'm going to check for exhaust leaks (thanks for the suggestion)
