Default need to quiet exhaust "cackle"

Well, my exhaust sounded great until I installed a cam and LT's with ORY. Now it has what I'd describe as a "cackle" noise on acceleration between 2200 and 3200 RPM's...sounds like an old pickup with glasspacks. Would anyone suggest installing a bullet muffler in the I-pipe, or would something else work out better? Any suggestions appreciated.

Welcome to the wonderful world of rasp. Check out post #3 in this thread. This guy cured it with a powerpack. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/753172-single-cat-off-road-y-pipe.html

Moroso Spiral Flow bullet on the I-pipe. Made a big difference for me. It's not expensive, fits well, and is not very restrictive.

did it make your exhaust more quiet, or just give it a deeper tone without rasp.

Try some of the chrome resonator tips . There are some nice looking ones out there.

I have the same setup as you but I have a TSP catted y. No rasp, sounds great. You could also consider some high flow cats.

Thanks for the input guys...I think I will call TSP tomorrow and see what they suggest. I will probably go with a bullet of some sort or "powerpack". In hindsight I guess I should have gotten the catted Y-pipe, but I didn't think it would be that much different considering I had stock manifolds with empty cats and SLP Y-pipe into the Hooker catback before. The cam probably effects this too.
