Default LS1 block to LQ9 iron block alternator bracket mounting question...

can someone explain to me whats the deal with the bracket?? I heard that you need to drill holes in the bracket to mount it properly??? Is that true... I heard that it will mount up but it wount utalize all of the mounting holes on the bracket itself... can anyone shed some light on the subject... pic's possibly.. Im doing the swap soon and id like to get this sorted out before I get to that point...

This is for a c5 corvette....

thanks...

you have to drill and tap the hole in the LQ9 block, then you will only use 2 of the 3 bolt holes on the bracket itself. correct me if im wrong, i couldnt find my article. jsut going off the top of my head.

some people didn't tapped it and only ran 2 bolts. By tapping the block you can use all three bolts= more secure.

no, what were talking about is if your putting F-body accessories on a LQ9 block. before you edited your post, that is what i thought you were talking about.
