XR1 is straight through too. just more packing material to absorb sound.

I don't have any dyno proof, but it is my understanding that yes it will. The Borla XR-1 is a true 3" core where as the LM2 bullet necks down. Additionally ite XR-1 has dividers in the middle of the core for sound baffling, but it also produces a scavaging effect and it is supposed to outflow straight pipe.
I put one on my LM2 and didn't feel a lot of difference ( did sound a lot better though), but I'm on stock manifolds- you will probably notice a lot more having LTs and a cam. I personally think the LM2 is a cstriction poitn on these systems. Why have a 3" intermediate pipe that goes over tha axel if the muffler is smaller. Probably not a big deal for most, but with LT and a cam -maybe
BTW, I'm acually selling my XR-1- only has about 300 miles on it and has been on the car for 2 mo. I want to go with a quieter system
PM me for details if you are interested.

Well since that debate is somewhat settled I also heard it cuts down on the rasp and gives the lm systems a quieter deeper muscle sound. Tried the search and didn't come up with anything so is this true or would the magnaflow bullet be better?

The magnaflow worked really well for me, and its cheaper than the borla. I put it inline with the muffler I already had, it toned down the noise and made it deeper.

Heres a vid before and after vid:

I didnt notice and difference in power. The magnaflow looks like a straight pipe with lots of little holes drilled into it. I dont see how it could hurt flow at all.
