WELLLLLL...NOT in my books..lots of people are not running the "TUNNEL BRACE"...i have a LAKEWOOD TUNNEL BRACE/DRIVESHAFT LOOP.....I would be fine with leaving it for awhile, but not for long....myself. I have every suspension piece there is...mine rides...not harsh..but ..very firm.

I removed it so I could mount my torque arm there. A lot of dragstrips will accept it as a driveshaft loop also so I wouldn't remove it unless you are relocating the forque arm or have a driveshaft loop. If nothing else it will keep the driveshaft from catapulting you if it fails. JMO.

Removing that is as silly as removing the upper panhard bar (which many do for TD's over the axle) or driving without a front swaybar. Yes, it can be done and is being done but all 3 compromise safety.

When I did my header and y pipe install that brace didn't fit back over the new exhaust. I've been running without that brace for 6 months now.

Should I buy an after market one that will fit? Its my daily driver and I don't go to the track.

Its fine to remove it. Mine has been removed for 15K miles for my true duals and no problems what so ever. The reason people do it is so they can get more clearance out of there true duals.

My car didn't have one. I bought a BMR driveshaft loop, but with the duals I've taken it off.

I dont think it is hurting but I also dont think it is doing much... its just flimsy sheetmetal, but it would be smart to either replace it with a DSL or the tunnel brace like stated before.
