Chris, you can sell the one my friend was going to buy. He has a HUGE trans cooler and it's right on his radiator...he wouldn't be able to use it unless he got another trans cooler.

yeah that is cool he should just get one like you got and mount it dope style, yours turned out good when we installed it...my trans always ran the same temp either dope style or infront of the radiator...

no biggie either way...

yes extend it all the way to the black radiator deflector...that should help some...also to get more air in cut the V bracket support for the hood latch at the top of the V...

Yea...I was talking to him last night and he said that it's so big that he wouldn't be able to mount it the way mine is mounted. I'll have to take a look at it.

Btw, my results with Chris' ram air made for AC...this is with the DA corrected both before and after...I ran .178 seconds faster and 1.534 mph faster. Nothing else on the car was changed. IMO, this was a bolt on very well worth doing. My AC is now gone and I now have the ram air made for no AC.

Chris - For us guys that want to keep a/c, do you think it'd be worth while to notch the upper radiator support? Would a 2" notch allow you to open the ram air up or would you still run into issues near the hood latch?

I'm just thinking there has to be some gains over this FTRA.

yes that would be about the perfect notch 2" but you would need to use the ac version ram air but note to me that you are going to notch the radiator support so i can make the front half of it alot bigger, the non ac version will not work because the clearance problems with the condenser are on the back side and not the front(i would have to make a new design for it to work and would be easier to just mover the front of the ac version 2" forward)...and when i was stock internal i gained 1.2mph over a FTRA when i went to this non ac version ram air...so being cam only now i am sure the gain is more like 1.5mph now...

what i have seen and tested is

FTRA ...................... 1(SI)-1.1(cam only)mph
ac version Ram air.......1.5(SI)-1.7(cam only)mph
non ac version........... 2.5-2.7(cam only)mph...

also the top of the hood latch, bumper support, washer resv, are not in the way the only thing that needs to be cut is the V portion of the hood latch, it comes down right in front of the ram air and blocks alot of flow(25-30%)...very easy to cut and remove and it is still very solid...

I'm interested in your larger ram air setup without the a/c condenser. BUT.. how does the air filter stay secure on that particular kit? From looking at the pics, I didn't see a filter tray it usually sits on. It also looks like the filter will fall right out of the bottom.
