Is anyone using or heard of someone using the Comp Cams XFI 270R113 Street Solid Roller Series Part #54-500-11? I've got a 01 LS1 with 27k on it and want to know Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN on the cam. Thanks

It will require pulling your heads and having them machined for solid roller springs, or purchasing new heads already set up. Solid roller lifters, some type of adjustable rocker, and heavy duty pushrods. The cheapest you could probably get away with will be easily north of $2,000. Then you get the joy of pulling the valve covers to adjust the lash every 1500 miles.

$700 for the lifters but it can be done!

Those morel's still require the lash to be set at zero, which will be hard to accomplish without using adjustable rockers. Unless all your valves are exactly the same height the pushrods will all vary slightly in length. I guess you could measure every one and special order 16 different pushrods with precision down to the hundredth of an inch.

Greg at Comp Cams told me the only thing I will need are new valve springs (1.300" GM LS1 Dual Valve Springs Part# 26921-16 , the Cam and the programmer. He wasn't trying to sell me a bunch of other stuff but was just curious if this will work and wreck my engine. Thanks for the feedback

For street, I would keep it hydraulic, unless you like adjusting valves on a regular basis (Pretty easy if you relocate your coils)
Nevertheless
although I've never owned LS solid roller, I used to have a 1970 LT1 SBC, awsome power but what a pain the ****.

Thanks for all the advice, Sounds like this new Comp Cam is not the best for me. I'm looking for a cam that will give me hassel free driving. Any ideas? My engine and trans are out of the vehicle and just want to throw something together before it goes in the 69 camaro

I'm in the process of restoring a 69 Camaro. I just bought the LS1 out of a wrecked 2001 Trans Am. So before I put it in the car I wanna do a little engine work to it. Would like a little under 400 HP it has the stock trans that came with the engine and the rear end would either be a 3:55 or 3:73. The Camaro will be for street use mainly. I wanna be able to drive the camaro to car shows, on expressways etc..... Just looking for get a little more power and have a good growl to it as well.
