Anyone remove there motor in there garage?
I am going to be swapping motors this summer and wondering if possible to do it in my garage. I think I saw someone use a cherry picker to lift the front of the body off the motor.
If you have done it and you have pix you could share, would be appreciated.

Get many 6x6 blocks of wood....I had a little help getting it out and zero help putting it in. If you go out the bottom, you should be able to do it in a garage no problem.

Went though the bottom when doing my buddies 98 just be sure to get some jack stands that are high enough. We though we had the car damn high, but when we finally lowered the engine and trans we only had like ½ an inch of clearance. In fact we had to wrestle with the EGR tube a little to get it out.

I used a Cherry Picker to lift the nose of the car up. I had an old Lowes flat cart that I rested the K-member on. Once the nose was high enough, slid the cart out the side. Easy one man job.

Took the engine out of the top of my C5 Vette over the weekend. Can't lift the body too high with a picker or will plant the rear bumper on the floor. Just strip it down to a long block and go through the top IMO.

LOL...Some guys got it good!
I have gone out the top with friends....but I like the idea of one big chunk out the bottom....just never done it...
Are these cherry pickers "safely" holding the nose of the car when the boom is in the 1/4 ton hole?...I know there isnt much left up there...just wouldnt want it to come crashing down!
