I would just to make sure the bearings stay lubricated especially since you found water in the pan. I know it sounds like a pain in the *** but it's cheaper insurance than fubarin a bearing & having to rebuild b/c of it.
And I'd highly suggest against WD-40 in the cylinders. Something about that doesn't sound like it would be bearing friendly if it made it there.

yea...it sounded odd....so I dont put anything in the cylinders...? just leave it like that

everything makes total since to me as to what others have said... cept for the "turning over" part... if he has no plugs in it, won't that stop the engine from turning over? I mean, if there's no spark, there's no explosion/compression in the combustion chamber, meaning nothing happening... I've never done this before, but I'm as confused as the newbie

i was about to ask the same question with cheaper oil. i see no reason to spend 6$ a qt when you can get some cheap **** to run a few min, drain, reapeat several times...
honestly if it were me id flush the hell out that motor!, take the covers off dump loads of oil.. drain pan...
you dont get all that water out... thats going to be $$ to fix!

Yeah I am with you. I would take some cheap oil pour about 12 qtsi nto my valve covers and let it all drain for like an hour. Then fill it back up with some godd synthetic fluid.. Start it let it run for about 15 mins or so. Drain that again and refill.. Might be expensive, but sure beats putting in a new motor

If I was doing it I would also unplug the coil packs from the computer so they do not arch to eachother. I know it would be rare to arch that far but no longer than it takes to unplug the coils, you might as well do it.

where do you live? what town and state? maybe someone from here can come help you out with this since most of us have done this before.
good luck and I hope your motor is ok. Make sure you get all that water out and I mean ALL before you start it or you WILL need a knew engine.

They mean turn over using just the starter motor, its going to spin the crank and the pistons will travel pushing out the water thru the spark plug holes. Obviously its not going to start,the point is to get the water out. I would also spray something like sta-bil fogging oil into the cylinders,no the gas treatment but the spray used when storing a car for long periods.

I highly doubt it...I checked my exhaust and seemed fine...it was too dark to see...but I will be turning it on tomorrow again....Im a bit nervous haha.
I worked my butt off really tough...I don't think I did a bad job for being the first time I changed spark plugs and undrowing a motor...hope everything goes well after this...

As an option in a situation like this a couple of gallons of cheapo engine oil (or even flushing oil!) mixed 70/30 with kerosene is great for flushing any crap, including water out of an engine.
As is pulling every electrical connector you can find and spraying a water dispersant (e.g.WD40) into the plug and re-connecting.
If the maf-sensor is suspect and needs specialist cleaning just leave it un-plugged until you get the appropriate cleaner -the car will run in back-up mode.
