Default Forged 347 to run 6.50's 1/8th?

I'm needing a guesstimate from you guys. I've talked to coach on the phone once so far and I'm sure he will be hearing from me again

I'm turning my street car into an all out bracket car (No Electronics). Trying to slim the car down to atleast 3100 with me in it (140lbs). Since we have a chassis shop in our backyard I'm sure it won't be a problem. My grandpa used to build lots of the Texas Outlaw ProStock cars back in the early 80's.

Anyway, I've come up with this so far so if you have any suggestions at all please let me know. This whole set-up can change since I don't know if I'm going with a 6L block or staying stock CI as of yet.

-Forged 347CI
-Victor Jr intake
-Some type of Accufab setup (4barrel)
-LS6 heads milled and very slightly ported.
-24x/24x 64x/64x cam (Maybe it's over kill?)
-TH350 with transbrake
-BTE 5000 converter
-Shifting around 6800 or so.
-4.30 or 4.56 gears.

I'm looking to run 6.50's or a little faster in the 1/8th and atleast mid to low 10's NA in the 1/4.

Some may think this whole thing is dumb, this is why I'm asking for YOUR opinions.

Get a custom cam (less lift for sure), your money will have to be concentrated on really good heads and suspension to match.

PM me I'll give you more info.

I would say put a better set of heads on it if you can afford it and get someone like Predator Z to spec you a custom camshaft.

Good luck !

~Better heads, definately!

~Bigger gears for the 1/8th

~5000 convertor may be a bit much if your using a tranny brake. i.e. I wouldnt worry about the convertor

~get a custom cam that will match some after market heads with HIGH Compression!!

~and Run at the very least 100 octane.

~electric water pump

~maybe some nitrous.

Remember bigger tire for the 1/8th and bigger gears

GOOD LUCK

I'm with him get at least 4.56 gears and better flowing heads. (Trick Flow or AFR) You won't need nitrous to run 6.50s with the right NA set-up. Trust me, I know, I run that now but not in the 100* Texas heat! Why don't you want to use the FAST 90 set-up?

I got an Iron block the other day but have to replace it (Got it from someone and have to buy him a new one down the road). Anyway, we are either going 408 or 414, not 100% sure yet.
