Default Eagle 383 stroker?

Anyone here running a eagle 383 stroker kit?

I have been looking into this and wanted to get some feed back on how well it works...

SO if you are running the kit what is your setup ( heads, cam, what eagle kit, and how much whp) ?

I was thinking something along the lines of the ls1 383 stroker kit with trick flow 235 heads with 75cc chambers to make 10.4:1

and I have not decided on a cam yet..

I've worked on/tuned a 383 before. They can make good power. You need to swing by so I can go over things with you.

Your only 2-3 miles away from me...

I would think that a eagle 383 would make the same power as any other 383 rotating assembly given the same compression and the top end was the same. From what I read eagle parts are good up to about the 1000rwhp mark after that they got the Lunati or callies dragonslayer stuff.

It seems like eagle makes quality parts.

See below for the rest of the combo.

437 lb ft torque, 480 rwhp. I think with some badass heads, 500rwhp is possible even through the automatic. . Nothing wrong with the much maligned 383.

That is what I was hoping to hear.. when all said and done on spray I want to make around 650-700whp and hopeing for a little over 500whp n/a. I just thought eagle had a pretty good deal as apposed to the others on their kit.

I was also looking into weisco pistons with lunati rods and the eagle crank... but Then I thought eagle probably did a lot of work to make sure all their rods and pistons etc worked well with their crank... I think I will get the whole eagle kit with trick flow heads and a good cam I should be able to get just over 500whp

I doubt the 235's will work on a small bore 383. 215 CNC'd or 220 as cast small bore TFS heads will be a better fit.

To the guy who dyno'd 480 RW... any track #'s?

After reading up on them more I think I will either go 215 or 225 but ahve to get it cncd to 72cc chambers so I can get a pump gas friendly ratio...

Not yet. Car was dyno tuned 2 weeks ago, and motor only has 1200 or so miles on it at this point.

...I'm also on my 10 bolt and I'm a bit afraid to come out of the hole on my slicks with the extra HP and TQ over the old setup. I'm thinking I will probably install a new rear this winter and be ready for the track in Spring.

Old setup made 430HP and ran 11.7 best and 11.8 regularly. Fully loaded car, 3850lbs with gas and me in it. It's got no cage, so if I hit the 11.5 mark, I'll be about where I want to be.

That is good to hear because I am hoping on street tires to just break into the 11s

You won't be disappointed if you go with TFS 215's. I am actually running TFS 215's on my 402 but had the heads opened up to a 4 inch bore to Maximize there potential. The 215's untouched will be perfect on your 383 idea. If you want to save a some cash and only give up a few rwhp you could opt for the TFS 220cc "as cast". Either way you go you should be happy. Good solid heads for Nitrous !!

Give Ron @ Vengeance a call (Number is in my sig, and tell him Doug sent ya) for a quote. Vengeance is an authorized dealer for TFS and should be able to point you in the right direction and get you a good / fair price.

I was thinkin the same thing the 235s would not be the way to go on a 3.90 bore...the 215s or as cast 220s will be the way to go...but I would shoot for some higher compression...my DD has a 11.4 ratio and I have no trouble with pump gas...59 cc chambers and a .040 gasket give me a real nice quench and no knocks ... plus more power ..

My SC is 11.4:1 with the GMPP 61cc heads using a stock gasket thickness. The car is tuned for 93 octane on motor, but I normally mix VP 109 and BP 93 at a 50/50 ratio due to the nitrous hit. If your going with TFS heads I'd use the 215's (64cc)...bigger is not always better when putting together the best combo.
