Exclamation Forged LS1 347 Build..

Well my motor just took a **** so I am going to build a Forged H/C/I 347... I'm goin with a TSP MS4 111lsa Cam, Dart 205's, Wiseco pistons -8cc, eagle rods, stock Crank, FAST 102/102 combo, ported LS6 oil pump, LS7 lifters. I'm looking for 460rwhp thru a Yank SS3600 stall, RPM level IV tranny, and 3.73 gears Naturally aspirated. Is this realistic? What are your opinions on this build? Thanx for any help...

From what I have heard, the Dart is a good head out of the box BUT it REALLY benefits from a good valve job.

Piece of advise do not go with the LS7 lifters if you are going with the MS4 A LOT of LS7 lifter failures with aggressive cams such as the MS4 go with the stock LS1/LS6 lifters they are the ones I am using

Good luck

Any reason you're not upgrading the crank? Just curious if you're on a budget. I know they are expensive but if you are going all forged with it...

I'm trying to keep it on a budget however if I did find a good deal I would probly upgrade if not the stock crank is good enough for what I plan on doin and it's rated to 1000hp. I don't plan on ever spraying my car so I'm just gonna have the machine shop turn and polish it.

The Crank can hold up to 1K hp the weakest parts are the rods and pistons. The stock crank will be fine.

Very true. I have seen Ed Curtis post this many times. But ported in the right hands they are a BADA$$ cathedral head. Think T4p but they need cubes to shine...
I have seen one car with these and it was a low 10 sec N/A streetcar .

Dart heads do need work out of the box for sure even with a valve job... I would rather run a TF head as cast than a dart...

I don't know how much you are paying for the Dart's but the TFS as cast heads are suppose to flow pretty damn good but then they suggest rocker arms so that might put you in the price range of AFR's. Depending on what stock heads you start off with you can have them ported by TEA or Cartek and have awesome results.

Like stated Dart's suck outta the box. That and a auto, etc. 460 i don't see happening.
My buddies car picked up 40 RWHP with a set of TEA LS6 heads over stock 205 Darts.

Use a TFS215 or AFR215s and don't look back. The darts need way to much work to get them at the same level to perform as good as the AFRs and TFSs do right outta the box.

you can always sell the darts and get a different head...unless you are getting a smoking deal on the machine work...although you usually get what you pay for...

I say sell the darts and get a set of TFS or afr's...even as cast TFS are great bang for the buck under 2k...

also why the -8cc pistons over a -2 or even -4...

what final cc chamber or cr do you plan on obtaining...
