i just put the cam in and will it tuned this week i hope. Its a 3000lb mustang with me in it and has a 98 ls1 with a stock bottom end. I installed a ls6 intake and a Tourqer v3 cam w dual springs.
I run the engine stock around 5900-6000 and it's been ok , should i set the limit any higher to get the power out of this cam or will i be pushing the stock rod bolts.
what is a good place to start till i get bolts

have you dynoed the motor/car? redline should be a couple rpms higher than where your making peak power so you fall into it after the shift. no worries about the stock rod bolts... especially in a light mustang. GL.

Personally, thats kinda iffy about the 98 rod bolts. They are easy to push to the limit, ask me how I know![Bang Head](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_banghead.gif)
IMO I say just upgrade to the ARP's, its around $100 I believe and cheap insurance in the long run. There should be a thread around here to change rod bolts yourself. Spend the time doing it right first, instead of doing it again later![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)

i have some arp rod bolts, but my last engine spun a rod bearing after they where put in. Not to say it was the bolt swap because my stocl oil pressure gauge was wrong so maybe it had a problem before.
I'd just hate to swap to arp bolt with out rod re size and have problem again.
i could always run it up around 6200 for now and try to buy the kartech bolts or what ever they are.
