I've heard great things about Comp Cams Ultra-Gold rockers. I have a set of 1.82s on my 5.3.

1) What does your head manufacturer (Trickflow??) recommend?

2) What did your valvetrain guy recommend?

3) Money is virtually ALWAYS an object. You could spend upwards of $4K on a rocker system, but you don't need to.

If you don't have a valvetrain guy helping you, look for a good one.

Good luck.

Jon

The best and the best for your application are two different things.

stock with trunion upgrade and shimmed for proper geometry

Cant do it.. There is still a high risk of premature valve seal wear with shimmed stock rockers with any lift over .550

I am at .637/.647

Don't believe everything you read in a mag or online. A number of folks have proved this to be incorrect. Y'all just have to do the valvetrain correctly.

Around here (near the PA border) "you'ns" is more common than "y'all".

Just curious, you state the HS suck but don't mention any specifics.

Were they set up correctly?

What is the issue with them?

If there is something else that may be the issue then new rockers may not solve whatever your problem is.

If the motor made power at 7k i would rev it there, but it only makes power to 6600.

One of my good friends had the same rockers on his motor and would rev to 8k, obviously with the other proper components.

Too heavy over the valve.. possibly causing float issues over 6000rpm

Come on, you know it's more like "you's guys". Leave the "Yall's" to us southern boys .

If it helps I'll be running Harlands.
