Default PAC 1518 recall / breaking??

Has anyone heard of this happening??
http://www.dfwlx.com/showthread.php?t=12400
Here is the first line from that forum... "This only applies to people who have bought them in the last couple months. I don't know if anyone has put a set on their car. They break within a couple hundred miles. It is a manufacturing defect."

There is no evidence in that thread. Let us wait for real life proof.

Call PAC directly and see what they say, best to go straight to the vendor in cases like this.

I was told by PAC that they had numerous breaking on the late-model Hemi stuff, but none to speak of on the LSx platform. A rep @PAC said last week they were running extensive Spintron tests on both platforms to try and find why the Hemi's were popping them but not the LSx, and then they'd be fixing the issue. We (Texas Speed) have yet to have any break on the LSx stuff we have sold!

Im running the 1518s in my ls1 i got from TSP around thanksgiving. Ive put about 700 miles on them and they are still working fine. Ive had the car tuned and dynoed and ran is fairly hard more than once. We'll see what happens, i guess.

its threads like these that will make my purchase of PRC duals and the loss of a few horsepower for a peace of mind to not have springs break.

Interesting, that the LSx motors have had great results with them from what I have read...yet, they don't last on a Hemi. I was ready to get a set, now I have to reevaluate. Wonder what could have that big of an impact on them...temp, lobe design, poor machining, hemiphobia??

How many miles have you guys put on the 1518's??

PSI maxlife if you're set on beehives.....I just went through the what-if dilemma and decided on Lunati gold duals (seats, seals, retainers, & locks)
for $225. Several venders on here offer dual kits w/ titanium retainers for
about $100 more

now this is why i went with the EHT spings and not the "dedicated and created just for these LSR cams" springs made my comp, they seem to have to many bad batches for my taste.

I wonder if it is a harmonic/vibe issue in the Hemi motors??

If you want a beehive spring that isn't going to break, and will handle .620-.630 lift ALL day, use the PSI 1511 "Max life" spring. I use that beehive on LSL lobe cams with great results and no issues.

FWIW, I hope PAC doesn't have an issue w/ the 1518's. I've installed 2-3 sets within the past few months.

I've had a set on my SC LS2 for 25+kmiles on XER lobes with no issues. Tested pressures 3 weeks ago and all are within tolerances. They will be staying in this year.
