Got eps cam card today! Need help
I got my eps cam today is a
Lift 600 In 603 Ex
Duration 230 In 238 Ex
Lobe sep is 112 with 3 degree built in
Centerline is 109
I have been have terrible issues with spring selection. I did some homework and my ls6 hollow valves weigh aroung 77g and my stock springs weigh
around 75 g plus 11 g for the stock retainer. It seems to be around 40g less then the ls1. A pac beehive weighs 75 grams and 5.7 grams for a titanium given a total of around 158g complete. If I run pac 1521 or any other dual for that matter they weigh 102 g for spring and 10.3 g for the titanium retainer giving me around 189 g total weight. This is all without locks which run around 2-3 grams. My oe ls6 set up is around 164 grams. These are all rough numbers but should be in the balpark. I use my car for raising hell daily but do alot of long road trips.
It looks to me with this cam size pac 1518 beehive should be real durable for my set up or am i wrong and should opp for the duals and give up the 30 or so grams of weight. I just dont know what to do. My lift looks more then safe but does duration and seperation have anything to do with my selection. Is 130 to 140 seat preassure good for me. It should peek around 6800 is what I been told and should run a 7.425 push rod and leave the oe locks. What should I do.
Thanks Clint

I had a cam spec done for my setup. No spray. Trying to get as close to 10s as possible with stock heads. Guys these weights were gathered from another thread I believe ferrea put up years ago. There is a reason people use ti vavle and gm used the sodium filled. It was to save a few grams and allow the valvetrain to be more stable at higher rpm. It is another pot scale use which is funny by the way

Geoff advised me against patriot golds because even though they are titanium the size of them still makes them heavier then most other titanium retainers. I wound up buying Pacs for my 234/246 cam from him. He recommended the 230/238 the OP got but i wanted bigger and he said since my coupe will be so light(2700lbs) the bigger cam will be great.

they do make great nitrous cams, which is my intention... but i think there's more theory behind the splits
