Default TSP Tsunami Cam w/stock lifters & pushrods?

I will be installing the TSP Tsunami cam this weekend and after speaking with a buddy of mine who works at a race shop and has built quite a few high hp motors he said that stock pushrods and lifters will work fine with this setup as long as I keep the revs under 6500 rpm and that a bent pushrod beats a dropped valve anyway. This is going into a 2005 LQ9 w/stock 317's and the Lunati .660 dual spring kit.

Any opinions?

CHANGE THE PUSHRODS....the first time you get on there hard, those things are gonna go. you are just asking for trouble if you done.

also people only mess up thier valves when they dont measure for PTV cleaence. so it is set up right, you should be fine...but change the pushrods, those things break and bend on stock power levels

Will 7.4's work with unmodified 317's or do I really have to check with a pushrod check tool (which I don't have)?

The lifters should be fine. The pushrods need to change. IMO it is a must!

What about the T-chain/oil pump. Engine only has 50k miles on it.

Oh, and any input about the 7.4" pushrods, are these correct for non-modified heads?

IMO ls2 chain and an ls6 ported oil pump/melling should be standard. I just think if your doing it you might as well, otherwise that 200 bucks that you skimped on will make you commit suicide if one of them causes a 4k dollar engine failure.

If it's me, I would put a pump and chain in while it is apart. Mainly because I don't want to go back in and change it later.

On pushrod length, we typically end up with a 7.425" all else being stock. That being said, we always recommend measuring just to make sure everything is correct for your specific application.

Forgive my ignorance, but why would there be any variation? Seems like the OEM's are all the same length, if nothing else has changed why would the push rod length not be a constant still?

You will be changing the cam and most large aftermarket cams have a small base circle and need different length pushrods to make up the difference
