Street Sweeper HT Cam

Street Sweeper HT Cam
Looking for imput from those who run this cam(228/232 .600/.612 111 LSA). I searched but didnt find a whole lot other than the 111 LSA sounds badass, mostly it was threads about its bigger brother. I plan on going with AI 243s and I was always a fan of EPS cams and recently talked with the guys over at AI who do their own cams which sound very promising as well. The Street sweeper just really intrigues me. My car is a weekend toy that isnt raced. Looking for nice low-range torque. If anyone can share their experience its greatly appreciated.

My EPS cam is nearly identical to the Street Sweeper HT but I haven't started the motor yet...which sucks. Although it (Sweeper) does sound good on You Tube. I was wondering what type of power was being made with the Sweeper HT but am fairly certain the EPS will be stronger from other EPS results I have seen. My EPS is 226/230 111+4 with 600-ish lift. I am carb'd so there are no worries about the 111LSA for me. I was thinking at least 500chp and am built for (street) torque also.

Whats the problem with 111 LSA? I have only seen great things out of EPS cams and thats why I wanted one. The guys at AI told me their cams have more of a potential to make power and will be better matched to the heads than an EPS cam. I just havent seen alot on their cams like I have EPS. They reccomended me a 228/234 .600/.600 110-114 LSA's. The Street Sweeper HT just sounds exactly what im looking for. Not worried about sacrificing a little power up top if it has a strong low-midrange torque.

I have heard that it is harder to tune than something a little wider. But, if you have a good tuner there is nothing to worry about.
The EPS guy (Geoff) is extremely knowledgable and I do believe his lobe design has a slight edge in making power. You are making a good choice by looking for low-mid range torque in a street car.

The 111 lsa shouldn't be any problem for a good tuner, Have you considered going with a custom grind; that's what I did. PREDATOR-Z speced me a 227(.614")/231(.617") 111lsa+2 w/LSL lobes. If you want to minimize valvetrain noise(mine's noisy) then go with a 230(.609") with LXL exhaust lobes

I have the larger Streetsweeper that New Era Performance sells and have also heard about the HT, everyone loves it that has it. Do some searches and you will see some results on this forum.

now you mentioned new era performance as being one of the closer shops for tuning, i would go with them as they particularly sell ed curtis cams so they are very famillar with the streetsweeper ht. refer also to "studderin" on here.
i dont see how you can wrong with the ssht cam and new era performance, a sponsor on here who again is familiar with this cam. good luck with your project.

I would suggest having Ed Curtis spec you out a cam based on those heads. I've heard he and AI work closely together, so Ed will be very familiar with those heads.
If you haven't seen his custom cam spec sheet that you have to fill out, let me tell you, it's extremely detailed; most detailed one I've ever seen. He specked me out a cam based on some AFR 205 heads. I ended up trading the heads/custom cam for a set of wheels and tires (wish now I hadn't done that), but the combo ended up making north of 450 rwhp with a LS6 intake, which is exactly what I told him I wanted in regards to power.

I had the ht in my 04 z06, I loved it. After the car was totalled, I pulled the cam out and put it in my friends 2000 ss, with stock 241 heads 6 speed and minor bolt ons the car has went 7.46 @ 93 full weight. The thing just drives great. Easy to tune, even with the stock gear in the z06, it was very awesome to drive even in traffic. Predator z actually told me to get that cam for my car, so I knew itd be an awesome cam.

oops but initially you expressed an interest in a streetsweeper ht and above you mentioned street sweeper to phil at ai. these are clearly two different versions with the ht (high torque) being more geared for a street strip vehicle while the street sweeper is more race oriented. the ht has proven to put down better numbers than the bigger version also. impressive.
