Why did you pick that cam? Just for the sound? As long you have a good tuner you should be ok. But you could have had a choppy idle without running a max effort cam.

its not just for the choppy idle i just said i like the choppy idle and it wont bother me, ive seen some dyno runs and other things that led me towards the ms4 i had a few other cams that i wouldnt mind having but i got this one used and for really cheap and thats how i ended up with it, the lsa is 111 , what other things fo i need to worry about , things i guess thats will constantly be braking or wearing out fast from that big of a cam

You shouldnt have any issues as long you have a good tuner and spends the time on drivabilty, Parts wearing out. I would check the valve springs every ten to fifthteen thousand miles.

My brother is selling his MS4 cammed, Stock Cubic Inch, LS1 Engine, and it drives PERFECT on the street. He could definentally drive it every day without any issues, and I have driven it a few times as well with no dissapointments. The Key is to find a good tuner, and definentally inspect the valvesprings or replace them every 10k or 15k miles like the other guy said. That cam is very aggresive, and has an Aggressive ramp profile which is hard on the springs. But it makes great power.

fwiw, he put down 444 rwhp and 407 ft lbs. trq. NA through a stalled auto, and his fuel pump was not keeping up. It was dropping down to 30-35 psi. So it def. had more in it too.
If you have any questions, feel free to pm me them and I'll share what I can with you.

James

I have heard you would want gears to run it or it could be a dog down low. Or maybe that was the trex cam... Or both. Something to think about. Ill probably get the MS4 or trex, but Ill also do 4.10 gears.

I wouldnt recommend it personally. I have a VERY capable tuner and parts lots absolutely suck. I didnt have the MS4 in the mustang but had a large cam and i didnt care for it too much at very low speeds but it did scream up top.

assuming the z06 still has the 243's, I would send them out to have them worked over to really take advantage of that cam. my 243's will soon be going to AI if I decide to keep my car. otherwise, like everyone else has said, the drive-ability is completely in the tune.

Because of a REF ticket, I just replaced my L/T and MS3 cam with a the stock maniflold, stock cats and a comp custom grind cam 222/222 .563/.563. I haven't taken the new set-up on the hwy yet but around town, I like the new set-up better. Granted it's quieter and it doesn't have the choppy idle but it's much more pleasurable to drive. It still has a little lope but a more low end tq.

I thought the MS4 needed flycutting of the pistons for clearance ????
and the MS3 was the largest to just pop in a stock piston LS ??? I could be
wrong but people seem to either love or hate Donkey Dick cams. The ZO6
is a light car and an M6 but I still think 4.10s would help drivability a bunch
even with the magic-tune.

MS4 does not require flycutting when using stock cylinder heads, and stock head gaskets. If the heads have been milled or a thinner gasket is being used you will definitely need to measure PTV clearance.

I have the Torquer V3 which is on a 111lsa and would have no problem DD'ing it, and I'm on stock gearing too. Tuner had to spend two days with it but now it's dead on.

^^ Mike at Straightline Performance in New Lennox. I'd recommend leaving your car there overnight so they can cold start it.

Not what I would suggest for a D/D, but if you do go this route I would suggest using a 114LSA atleast.
