Anyone ever sleeve an iron 6.0 block? Details?
Reason I'm asking is a friend was thinking about running a Gen III motor in a racing class that requires iron blocks. He would like to get the most bore possible say 4.125-4.155 instead of just on 4.060
Any details on how the sleeves held up?
BTW - I did a search and didn't find any info on this.
Thank you.

It's sometimes done when an iron block gets damaged with SBC/SBF engines etc.

Hey guys,
Just talked to Steve (he's my neighbor) about the iron MID and dry sleeves. He'll have a couple in a week or so. I mentioned this thread, asked him some questions, so I thought I would pass along his thoughts (he said it was okay).
First, yeah, they're gonna do an iron MID, but the cost is probably double that of an aluminum block. The reason is time. It takes almost two days to machine one. Iron is tougher than aluminum, obviously.
As far as dry sleeves, the walls are so thin, you can't get much of a sleeve in them, certainly not one to accomplish 4.125. That 4.080 sleeve job mentioned would probably leave the block wall less than .020 thick, if that.
