Default Stock rockers / 630 lift

Aloha gang
Wondering how long my stock rockers can last with my cam. I know the stockers are strong, mine have about 500 miles on them and have the trunion upgrade.
I installed this cam, 235/245 630 lift 113 lsa, redline 7000rpm. also have all the supporting stuff chain, spring, lifters, pump etc...
Thanks for any suggestions

As long as you are doing AutoX or turning past your projected RPM, I wouldn't worry about them.

Sweet. I had some brand new rockers shipped to me when i was installing my cam kit. Did the trunion upgrade and put them on. I like the GM rockers because there light and strong, and my redline is 7000rpm. But some dude kept swearing my rockers would get chewed up quik. I called BS, but figured wouldn't hurt to ask for some other real world results. I don't mind if there a little louder than aftermarket rollers.

How much open spring pressure are you running?

Sounds like you have a good setup going. I run the same rockers with a .649 lift cam with no issues. The stock rockers are a very good setup because they are consistent, we seem to have numerous issues with a lot of aftermarket sets.

I will be running the TSP VVT3 camshaft. Are the stock rockers OK with this camshaft? Also the L92 head with the TSP spring and CNC upgrade.

That's the real factor. What's the consensus on the max open spring pressure limit to maintain stock rocker arm reliability ... 400 lbs?

Well I'll be WELL over that. I was worried as well, but 4 shops from all 4 corners, including 2 other "well known" in my state said they'd be fine.

Just throwing it out there.

Yes that setup will work great. That is the setup we prefer to run.

What lobe are you running on a street car that needs well over 400#? I'm running a pretty big lobe with just under 380# and my valve train is controlled to the 7,000 rpm limiter

I would seriously check the geometry of the setup as you may find you need to lower the rocker stand. I think you will find they wipe close to the exhaust side of the valve stem and have a very wide pattern. That was my experience with them on a prior setup.

400# is the most I hear you want to try to stay under. I'm running 450# (PRC springs) and I have talked to a few different shops that say no worries.

The amount of rocker failures is so small in comparison of the builds they have done (16 per build) that it isn't a concern for me.

I will do the truunion upgrade in a few months for safe measure but I'm not concerned.

If i understand correctly that would just keep the needle bearings tearing your motor up. you would still have rocker tip wear and play.
