Are Comp Lifters Better Than LS7 Lifters?
#62
I had plenty of warning, started with a metallic tap that just eventually got worse with mileage. Also notice tiny bits of the metal from the roller on the magnet of drain plug.

Same thing with noisy lifters - lots of people out there with quiet LS7s. Unfortunately I'm not one of them.

LOL, right now my intake is off along with the valley cover. Haven't pulled the heads yet. Dunno if I want morel link bar or regular. I don't beat on it much and currently have a stock LS6 cam. Might go link-bar for future upgrades, but I might swap in a cam now also. Not having to worry about a twisting lifter is a plus.

None link bar lifters will not twist except in the case of a wrong valvetrain set-up' and this until above 8500rpm...been done for years on LS engines.
Link bar lifters will never ever twist, as with a wrong valve train set-up, but destruction of valve-train components will happen, sooner or later, even quicker if you rev your LS engine above 6500rpm...still happening everyday.

Let me reformulate it if you don't mind.

My rev limiter is set to 6500 and I have never hit it, 5500 is the highest I have gone. Brian tooley springs site has the link bar morels for $499, im sure they can get the non link bar ones. I will be contacting them.

Crap. I was just told by a well-respected LS guru & member here that I should just use LS7 lifters for my application. Said Comps aren't as good and Morels will be noisier. Now what do I do? If I still have ticking with new LS7's and new cam & heads it's time to hide the razor blades . Did I just get a couple of "bad" LS7's or what?
