I haven't seen much in the way of driving impressions or dyno charts of the SNS 3 cam. Would it be "too big" for a mostly street driven car compared to the stage 2 cam? I like everyone else would like as much as I can possibly get lol.

I drive mine primarily on the street. It is not bad but I could see how it would be if you do not have a good tune. from 1300 till about 2800 rpm it its not all that powerful but once it gets up past that its all torque (400 ft lbs from 3800 up) I am currently running a rear end out of an auto car and I can say gears will help alot.

Im assuming 4.10s would help it get moving down low quite a bit. Correct?

My build is very simplistic. I have a 25% underdrive pulley, no AC, LS7 lifters, BTR springs and pushrods, 243 heads (not ported), Fast 92/92(not ported), 42lb injectors ARH 1 7/8" headers (very very sexy), TSP true duals(not the best quality but for the price worth it), monster level 2 w/ 18lb flywheel(seems great so far), tick master(cured all usual stock problems), stock rear (not for long).

Overall I am extremely happy with how it performs, especially when the DRs are on. I do believe a new rear with some 4 10s will help me alot (get a real track pass in, so far best was 12.57 at 120mph with a 2.3 60'). I have been experiencing a little bit of regret not porting the heads or intake(could do it later). The street manners are all in the tune, since I put in a new IAC valve it has been running better (no idle surge or hover). I do love having 400+ ftlbs of torque from 3800rpms and up. I have been averaging about 17 mpg and that is with very very spirited driving.

Need a little help with my setup. Ordered the sns stage 3 package for an ls1. Planned to go cam only but lucked into some used prc stage 1 ls6 heads. I know its a pretty high lift cam and I don't want to run into ptv issues. Stock mls gaskets? arp bolts? Studs? Alper motorsports studs?

Want to get it all ordered so I can throw it back together

It depends on if they have been milled. my ptv clearance was as follows: The exhaust is .124 and intake is .148. that being said that was measured with stock unmilled heads and a factory mls gasket. your best bet is to measure. end of story.

As Insannity pointed out, measuring is the best way to know.

That said, valve drop on a Stg. 1 LS6 PRC head should be(read should be) identical if not within .005" of factory.

This would allow you to run the SNS Stage 3 camshaft with no issues if this is the case.

I prefer the BTR SLR lifters in place of the "old standby" LS7 lifter.

Anyone running the SNS Stage 3 through a 4l80 and a 9"? I have some people doubting the numbers I think it will make and want some solid numbers/opinions to fall back on...

LS6 bottom short block
PRC 5.3 Stage 2.5 heads
SNS Stage 3
Mamo ported FAST 90/NW 90 tb
QTP 1-3/4" headers
QTP ORY with 4" Flowmaster merge
Mufflex 3" with Spintech dual exit muffler
Built 4l80 with custom FTI converter
Moser 9"
Nitrous Outlet 90mm plate kit with a "200" shot to start, may jet it up to a "250" shot

I wish more people who run these cams posted track results. What I have found seems like setups that aren't quite dialed in and not running to their full potential.

Still an awesome thread nonetheless.
