How much power would I gain switching to the sns stage 3?
Would I need to flycut pistons again or would I be good to go since it's been done? That's for your help again martin

Martin,

Which one of your cams for c5 z06 to make 450+ rwhp?

TEA stage 1 ported heads, stock valves, milled .020 using .051 gasket for 11:1
FAST 92
LS2 TB
1 3/4 headers
Ud pulley

Solid results! Your H/C curve vs. the stock curve looks awesome. No power lost!

Yes sir! What vehicle is this going in?

It would most likely gain around 15-25hp due to the later IVC, earlier EVO and added overlap the camshaft has. You may gain more, you may gain less.

How much clearance did you have with the Stage 2? I can crunch some numbers and determine the difference in P to V to within .010" 90% of the time.

I would highly recommend the SNS Stage 3 camshaft or the V.2 Polluter camshaft. That said, with the heads being milled, both will need to be fly-cut for adequate clearance. You could run a custom grind cam I have that is 233/236 .619/.578 112+3 and most likely be OK, but with the heads milled your options are going to be smaller if you do not wish to fly-cut.

Default turbo stage 3 cam V2 for LS2

Hey Martin, I am in the process of getting my LS2 motor modified for my 1993 single cab shortbed 1500. I just received the turbo cam stage 3 v2 from a friend in return I ordered him a stage 2 blower cam from you guys which should be delivered soon. He changed his mind from turbo to pro charger so we initiated the trade knowing that I am going turbo. Now I want to know if you could give myself some advice since I am a fairly new to LS WORLD and a buddy of mine is basically the one that's building the motor as well as researching. . . So now my question. . Since my ls2 is stock and I'm not planning on forging. . What heads do you suggest I run. I am planning on doing a PT 76mm and whichever heads I get I am going to build and already ordered rockers, trinun upg etc. I'm seeking to hit the 600 whp mark. I know compression is too high now. Can you please tell me what heads to use with the cam or if I should get a different set up. Thanks a lot. . -LEN

IMO that cam(Stage 3 turbo) is much too large for a LS2 with that turbo. If it has not been used, has not been installed and is still in the box you can ship it back to us and exchange it for a cam that will be optimal for your combination.

You need our LS1/LS6 Stage 1 Turbo cam which is 227/227 .624/.598 114+5.

This cam will work much better in your application as the Stage 3 IMO will cause back pressure issues.

7.400 is the most common if the heads have not had a valve job or they have not been milled.

Measuring with a push rod length checker is highly recommended.

Hey Martin,

Need a new camshaft for my LS swapped 240sx. I had the SNS Stage 3 mild (which was FAST but didn't have a chance to get it on the dyno before #7 blew up, broke second and third ring lands). New setup is an LQ9 with AI 243 226cc heads milled .030", PSI Maxlife beehives. Wanted to use the old cam but wasn't interested in fly-cutting, only had about 0.035" PTV clearance on intake side. Recommendations? Thanks.

I want to change out my tsp torquer v3 cam for some thing larger. Its alil on the small side for my new lq4. Would a custom one be better ? Or I was looking at the polluter v2. Mods are in my sig.

If you had .035" with the new combo and the SNS Stage 3, the LS2 Street Heat Stage 2 233/240 .619/.588 112+2 will have around .055". That cam has the same IVC and EVO event as the SNS Stage 3, but it opens the intake valve 2 degrees later and closes the exhaust valve 2 degrees earlier.

This allows for a very similar power band as the SNS Stage 3, but it will not come into tune during the overlap period as the SNS Stage 3 does due to it's IVO and EVC events. Meaning a bit less mid-range torque and peak HP, but it does have a bit flatter power curve from the reduction in overlap.

If you want more P to V than .055" I can have a custom cam ground for you that will put you over .060" on the intake which is in my experience adequate.

If you plan on spraying as much nitrous as your signature shows, I'd highly recommend a custom grind camshaft. If you were only going to spray that much nitrous once in a blue moon, and if you planned on normally spraying 150-200hp of nitrous the V.2 would work great with that. If you do plan on spraying more than 200hp most of the time a custom ground dedicated nitrous cam is your best bet in optimizing your combination.

Yea I'm not spraying 300 all the time. Probably 200 on the street which is where 95% of my driving is. So your vote is for the polluter v2?

If that is the case, then the V.2 would work well.

I have a stock 25k mile 03 Z06 that I'm going to make not stock...

Looking at your SNS stage 2 and 3. I'll have longtubes going on as well along with a CAI.

The car is a toy and not a daily driver. I want to keep the 3.42's. I'm going to bring it to Tick to have it tuned and I would like good driveability and the most power and useable power I can get with a cam and longtube header combo blah blah blah

Stage 2 or 3 or a different cam all together?

Thanks for your time!

Tim

[QUOTE=Martin@Tick;18412502]

Yes sir! What vehicle is this going in?

1959 chevy apache truck. It is very light. 6.0/4l80, touched up 317 or 241 heads, truck intake, kooks 1 7/8" 3" xpipe duals.
I'm just looking to make some noise and leave black marks everywhere!
I was thinking about the sns stg2. Would that be a good choice for this old truck? How about converter to go with it?

Thanks

Is the stage 3 that much harder to tune for? I should have my S3 car running tomorrow, I cant wait! When I chose this cam, I wasnt planning on getting heads, but if I do, what, if anything would clear without flycutting? 2000 LS1 with sbe.
