would this be a good cam choice?
im looking to go cammed come spring, i have full bolt ons and stock heads. (see sig for details) i have taken into consideration the other mods involved in putting the cam in ex. springs, pushrods, ls2 chain, ls6 oil pump and a tune. this basically takes up my whole budget for upgrades for a while. Car is a daily driver in the warm months, sees the track about once or twice a month.
would either of these cams suit my car well?

Thanks in advance!

Both of those cams would be good with your car, but imo you can get away with something bigger. The 2nd one is similar to what i have but mine has a 600+ lift and I can DD it no problems. To make things easier Id try to find the cam/pushrods/springs in a kit so you can get them all at once and theyll match.

IMO you're look in the right size range, I wouldn't go bigger with a car that'll see DD duty.
So how smooth/rough a idle are you wanting, at what rpm range would you like the HP to peak, what charteristics are most important for your cam choice to have?
BTW, I'd also look at the Crane 1449601, it's the same as the Crane cam you listed except with slightly more lift.

Also add to that list Vinci(VHP) cam grind #048(228/230 112lsa, lift .571"/.573"), this cam is cut by Crane.

id like the idle to be semi choppy, but not to the extreme where it is going to die out. plus id like to retain a good amount of vac. i am liking the look of that crane you posted...
but i also like the package deal of the streetsweeper..
this choice is becoming more and more difficult!

All the cams posted so far have from 4* overlap up to 11* overlap, but they all should have good drivability with a good tune. I think you'll be happy with any of these cams, performance and sound wise
Lunati , 4* ol
Crane, 6* ol
Crane HL, 6* ol
SSHT, 8*ol
Tick SNS 2 mild, 10* ol
Tick SNS2, 11* ol
Here's a milder custom grind similar to the Tick SNS 2 Mild, cut on CompCam lobes: 226(lxl)/ 232(Xtreme-RPM H.L., lift .605"/.575") 111lsa +3, 7* ol

Mike over at New Era Performance in NY can show you some before and after numbers from his installations. You may also be able to pry from him the information regarding the comparison numbers between the "real McCoy" SSHT and the clones. Might surprise ya.
