Default which pickup tube o-ring should I use? *PIC*

Its the felpro kit listed on the paper in the background. I used the black one and it went on good, I just want to be sure I'm using the right one. I read the red one is for a pickup tube that is recessed, not sure on the green one.

IIRC it should be the black one.

This instruction sheet came with my Melling 10295. It is somewhat of a challenging diagram to understand if you don't know what you're looking for, but it helped me.

I also vote for a black o-ring on your application.

Green is truck pickup tube, red looks way too thick, black looks like the winner.

I would not use any of them...
GM had a revision of the O-Ring...
go into a GM Dealership and get the right one... which I believe is a Blueish color now.

not sure...
but at a minimum, I would go in, and see exactly which one they want you to use instead of asking people to guess from an internet picture.

if the o-ring doesnt seal properly, you will have oil issues
at a minimum, its worth the drive to the dealership to see what the GM recommended part it.
take the ones you have with you.

its not supposed to fit loose...its supposed to be hard to get the pickup into the pump...

This is a very crucial seal...it needs to be tight

I used the red fel-pro on my 99, it is thicker, just lubed it with motor oil. The fitment was a little snug, but the pickup tube did fully seat and I have no pressure issues. Believe that part number 72401 is the part I used.

yea it was tight, I had to force it in. I had plenty of lucas assy lube on it too. It had a good positive feel, I'm pretty positive it will work.

Used the red one...I think I had pinched the black one and could not use it...I went to the parts store and picked up that red fel-pro seal after searching post here.
