So I came across a deal for a supercharger off of a zl1 and can get all of the accessories for it as well for a good price. I am contemplating switching to lsa heads and running this with my high compression. However, I am not sure if FI would work well with high compression even when e85 is used. Does anyone know?

I wasn't sure since I know almost nothing about FI. I also wasn't sure if e85 allows for more compression with FI. How much lower would I need? I could probably drop it a few points with other heads and a different head gasket.

It does, but not when the compression is that high. I agree, stay the course.

I could get down to around 11.8 to 12.1 to 1 compression but that is probably too high still huh lol. I wish I thought of this when planning my build lol.

ZL1's are 9:1 soooo.....

I would target something in the sub-10 range. Why not just swap the pistons out?

You might be able to make 11.8 work on e85. I've seen some pretty high compression Procharger builds on e85.

Good point I could do that I just figured I could run higher compression with e85 but I wasn't sure how much and if I didn't have to swap out the pistons I wasn't going to.

Okay if that is possible I'll do it. I emailed Martin@Tick the same question so I'll see what he says too as well to see what is possible.

What head gasket are you figuring in to get that 11.8?

.060 thick head gasket is what I was looking at. .051 ls3 gasket will put it at 12.1 and ls9 will put it at 12.01. I am also figuring 70cc chamber lsa heads.

Well, that's about as thick as you can get I believe. Interested to see what Martin says.

You won't want to run 20 plus pounds of boost, but 8-10 would be fine @11.5 compression. NA engines are quench sensitive but nitrous and boosted don't seem to care. A larger chamber with a .070-.080 gasket would still be fine should you decide to change up the combo. You will want to run a quality E85 as pump stuff can vary a bit and the higher static with the boost will narrow the happy range.

I was only planning on running about 9 psi if I do this for now anyway.

That would be doable if you can get the compression down to the 11.8-12 range. I would add meth injection to the combo and don't skimp on the rest of the fuel system. Tune in on the conservative side and don't get greedy, she'll live. That thing will come on hard with 8# feeding her

Well Martin said on just e85 he wouldn't want the compression any higher than 11.5. I'll see if I can get it down that low. It is really going to depend on my heads and gaskets I run.
