So now I need to figure out how much to have the heads milled. First though is a .040 head gasket the thinnest you should go so your quench isn't too tight? Or can you go with a .036? I know .030 will create too tight of a quench and the pistons may even hit the heads.

I would not go more than .036 on the quench.

Do you know how far out of the hole the pistons are on your block? That will determine which gaskets you can run in order to get the proper quench and not be too tight.

I wasn't planning on going thinner than .036. I don't know yet as the block hasn't been assembled yet. I guess I'll wait to have my heads milled and pick out my gaskets until I see how much my pistons are out of the hole by.

Does Aaron's elbow clear the cowl with the ls3 super victor intake? I am not interested in a carb style TB so that option is out.

It would be hard to say if it would clear. It would shck to have all the stuff and then mock it up and realize you have to cut the cowl and/or hood.

Didn't see the super Vic part. I know the Vic Jr with Aaron's would fit. You just have to trim alil but then leave weather stripping and it looks stock and keep your wipers, but with super Vic I know it sits higher so I'm unsure

He is right about the Vic Jr, but I'd rather go with a FAST over a Vic Jr. Super Vic is a different story. That new MSD intake will be out in January. Not sure if they will have one for LS3 heads though.

Summit says it will ship the 18th if bought today.

I bet the hood clears I know I have about 5" from the front end frame to the hood I can't measure the block to the hood in the back though. I also don't want to buy something to loose my wipers as this will still be driven on the street.

I was only considering the super victor because I have a 102 tb already and that won't bolt up to a 4150 flange elbow will it? Really I am trying to figure out what the best intake for my application is without going custom sheet metal intake.

Is a Vic Jr out of what you want? I am about 95% sure that Aaron's makes an elbow with 102 tb on a 4150 style. Let me checm

I talked to them and I don't believe they will have them on the 18th. According to MSD, the intakes won't be ready to be at the vendors till mid January. That's probably a tentative date MSD gave vendors.

Not really sure lol. I want what is best for performance but doesn't sacrifice low down too much and make street driving horrid. I am liking what I have read about that new intake though.

It's just another option, which is great. Early testing shows it's better than a FAST, and priced right along the same lines as a FAST. I'll be ordering one for my setup.

After my friend finishes paying for my FAST I may buy that msd intake we shall see. It looks nice produces some good gains over the ls3/ls7 on stock engines and even more on modified. I know the fast ls3 gains I have read on most setups aren't much over the stock intake. I have been trying to find information on the effective rpm range.

If down low is what you want, stock style is what you need. Cross the Vic off your list.

Alright then it will be between the FAST and the MSD. I am leaning more towards the MSD at this point though.

I want to see some more testing on the MSD intake. What I really want to see is back to back testing between the MSD intake and a FAST 102 on the same combo.
