Default 14:1 on E85 396CI

I like your build, curious about the compression and how the Dyno will react since this is not a "Copy build" you can "Tune it a bit" for the street. I especially like the E85 for non-DD'ers lots of potential for seat of the pants grunt from Sky High compression.

Enjoy the ride, this will be a fun car.

Thanks! With the change in bore size the compression will actually be around 14.8:1, makes those high compression builds on 93 gasoline look like nothing lol. Instead of a 396 it will now be a 421 (4.03 bore X 4.125 stroke).

Wheels look real nice. If you have no need for the rocker arm stands, you could always send them my way.

With the increased displacement and compression, any idea now what it's going to make? Or, should I say, what are you hoping for?

Thanks! No clue but I am hoping for close to 600 rwhp. I may down the road get some TFS or AFR heads if I can't get the numbers I want with ported 243s. I still need the stands I am using stock rockers with the trunion upgrade and cryogenically treated to them for strength. I will probably get Jesel rockers at some point but not now.

Question, can 3/8 thick pushrods fit in 243s without machining?

I believe so. Have you got the heads back yet? If not, ask Phil and have him do it on his dime

Nope my heads are not back yet. One of their machines broke so output is lower he said next week they should be done though.

I would e-mail him right away then so he can have the heads machined, if they need to be, for the pushrods. If they do need to be machined, I would seriously have him do it for free since you're spending so much money with him already, and the heads aren't getting done as soon as they expected.

Yeah I just sent him an email asking if 3/8 pushrods will fit. He replied saying no they don't so I asked if they can machine them to.

Phil told me they could do it no problem and offer led it for free. I didn't even have to ask which I took them up on. So my heads will allow 3/8"pushrods when I get them back.

Ha yeah but it will be worth it. On another note I fitted my new wheels and they fit over my cts-v brembos without a spacer even with a 53 offset.

It's those little things in life that we take for granted isn't it?

Yes it is. I just bought my Iron 4.030 block. I'll buy my pistons tomorrow! I am also thinking about arp head studs. Anyone know if there is any machining needed for those, I don't think so but I want to be sure.

So my block should be here Friday and I just bought my pistons. They are the same ones I bought before but 4.030 bore instead of 3.903. Now I just need to sell the 3.903 ones lol.

So my pistons should be here Friday as well as the block. All I need engine wose then is rod/main bearings but Tick Performance should have those on hand. I am also going to go with head studs so I need to buy those as well. The last thing I need for the car to run is the braided stainless steel fuel line for the dual 255 pump I bought off a member here which should be here in the next week or so. If I have enough funds I am going to get a Extreme Automatics 4l60e otherwise I will baby it until I can.

Could you elaborate more on your fuel setup? Are you going to run the stock regulator? I guess what I'm trying to ask is what all upgrades are you going to need. I know about the dual pumps, but what hotwire kit did you get?

No I am not planning on running the stock regulator. I attached a picture of the pump I bought. I need lines for sure and I am going to get a full fuel system upgrade minus the double pumps from either Lonnies Performance or Nasty Performance. I am not sure what hotwire kit I need yet.

Also I am trying to decide on whether to drop the tank and remove the pump and fuel that way or cut a trap door and siphon the fuel out with a pump, I don't believe there is much left in it.
