Default Supply and Demand this year on parts........Sucks...

The only thing I can attribute the record sales of this year to is gas prices. I have been in this industry since 1989 and I can attest that we have not seen this kind of volume since the late 90's.

I want the public to know that the lead times or delays that vendors are telling you are the truth. This industry goes into an election year knowing it is going to be flat. Well we are seeing double digit growth over last year and NOBODY was ready for it when it came to inventory levels. I just ordered SB and BBC cam cores and the usual leadtime of 12 weeks is now 28 weeks.

So the industry as a whole is behind. We have not seen volume like this in 2 decades. We apologize. Thank you for your patience.

Yup, I just ordered a Hellwig anti roll bar for my car and they are a few weeks out.

Talked to the guy who designed it at SC&C and he said they have had to scrap another bar project they were working on because the manufacturer is already running overtime to make the current products and they can't accomodate another new product.

I'm sure it's bitter sweet for you guys. But I'm still glad to see the industry doing so well compared to how it was a few years ago.

It might suck for the consumer but ultimately it's a good thing. It's a good sign to be seeing people sink money into something that isn't a necessity (but let's be real, it pretty much is a part of life for car guys).

On the other hand, here in New Jersey we are having an alarming rate of foreclosed homes and are rapidly becoming the quickest state to leave.

This. Even here in Oklahoma where the oil business is a bust and our economy is not so good because of it the performance shops here are covered up with work. Everyone wants 800-1000 hp now. You should see the attendance at the tracks when they show up for exhibitions or to compete.
