I got a set super cheap 40 bucks with rockers one bad chamber and was wondering what you guys have seen in your areas what a repair like this cost. Gonna call around tomorrow but wanna be armed with some info.

It's hard to tell from the picture , how deep are the goulges in the quench area and the plug bosses appear to sheared off ..If you have to completely rebuild the boss in in a number of cylinders it could get costly.

That's the thing man it's just the one chamber . Every other one of fine. The gouge I the quenchbarwa is deep nonidea how it happened I they way seems like it goes into water. Also it's the only set of 317s for sale once seen in my area ever. Online ebay they only sell sets and not cheap at all my other head is mint I want the larger chamber to end up at 9:1 for my blower set up

when you try to remove the spark plug you will tear the hell out of that hole. Will at least need a helicoil or timesert to fix. even as cheap as you got them it will still probably cost as much to repair that one cylinder as replacement.

Ed, there is a single 317 head for sale over in the classifieds currently, for much much cheaper than the repair will be on your head. He’s asking $70 or best offer...

If I would have known about the 70 dollar one off here I would have rather taken it and paid shipping of course, I paid 100 with the free ebay shipping and the head has been in the weather.
