ls1 camaro low oil pressure under WOT
So basically I got this 1998 Camaro z28 that I bought a few months back. I've done sum suspension mods but haven't really touched the engine. I changed the oil twice, and also flushed the coolant. However, at a normal temp idle, my oil pressure is about 25-30--- psi and under wide-open throttle it'll go up to 40-45 ish and when i let go of the gas it'll kinda go a little more up. However, I know that oil pressure is supposed to rise up to 60 psi which only ever happens to me at cold start. Any ideas on what it could be. I was hoping its only realated to oil pan or pump because I know these cars are netorious for bad heads or sumthinn. Any help would be cool )

First try a new sender. They are known to go out. How many miles on the car or engine?
BTW these cars are NOT notorious for bad heads. Only certain ones from Castech have been known to crack after a lot of miles.
Your pressure is not far off from normal

My car only got 87k miles. imma try and record a video tmr of what it looks like WOT. What do you mean by a sender? Like a mechanical gauge? Also, I think my car leaks a little oil/burns over time. I don't know if that means anything but I always top off my oil

Low oil pressure safety shut down has killed my car on track passes multiple times with an F-body pan. Their lower sump shape/design isn't the best.
Do like Darth said and put extra oil it in. If it helps, maybe look into a baffle like the one from Improved Racing.

Your oil pressure isn’t far from normal if that’s a reading from the stock gauge. If you’re concerned about the engine, drain the oil and cut the filter. It’s cheaper and easier than ******* with the sending unit, and you’ll have your answer in about 20 minutes.

Got sum videos
I have a few videos at different speeds showing what I mean... the oil pressure goes a little bit down when I give it gas, but jumps up again a little bit after I let goooo. It’s very strange you can see that my psi barley goes over 40

And to add to this, you’ll need to use an oil filter cutting tool. $50 at Summit. It will be your best friend. You’ll use it all the time, if you care about what’s going on in your engine. DO NOT use a hacksaw to cut the filter open. It will have all of the metal shavings from the cut in the filter, and you won’t be able to tell what’s what.

sounds pretty interesting and id be down to do that. My only question is what do I do with that info? if theres like metals in my oil aint that jus bad in general? I have a friend with one of those tools. I'll be trying it soon. I also just added half a quart of oil and it's still kinda acting the same.
