Default What kind of power would I make? LS1

Hey guys,

I have a bunch of odd ball parts taking up space in my garage, so I think I might put them together and see what happens. I have a stock LS1 bottom end, PRC ported 243 stage 2.5 heads (65cc), a FAST LSXR intake manifold, and a Summit cam 226/238 .600/.600 113LSA.

It probably won't make 500 wheel. But the dynamic compression is reasonable so it should run on pump gas easy enough. I'm thinking it would make a nice street motor. Any thoughts?

430-450

A lot of will it depend on what it's in and the drivetrain.

^^^^ what he said

Might as well have some fun putting it together if the parts are in the garage.

A crank scraper, UD pulley, Mamo-fiy the TB & 102 Fast and short travel lifters could help pick up some extra hp if the budget supports but still wouldn't expect 500 whp on an honest DynoJet.

I would quick mill the heads for a little more compression. Should be a pretty nice combo. Should be in that 440-450 range I would think.

Thanks guys. I figured somewhere between 400-450. I don't really want to mill the heads or do any other machine work. I don't even know what project this motor will go in yet. I'm kind of leaning toward a 80's Caprice. I think it would be funny to show up at a local cruse in with a clapped out Caprice and pop the hood to show off a nicely polished build LS1.

I might even put it all together and sell it as a complete motor just to make some space.

390-410 in an auto. Little more with a stick.

Depends on how generous the dyno is. 420 seems to be a pretty realistic dyno based on some n umbers I've seen posted elsewhere.
