Default Gen 3 parts list help.

Now that I know I got a gen 3 6.0 lq4 I want to start buying parts for it and not sure what brands to get when it comes to ordering like the oil pump, Timing chain, gasket sets for front and back of the block & heads.
I'm going to be running 799 heads and want to upgrade the rockers.

Yea you posted this thread already, forgot about it?

I know it's hard to keep track of them with all your other ones of build my car for me. Click on your name on here and find your other threads you started on your profile, that will help you.

That's the simpler way, reading what others have done and built is much more work and effort for you so I don't expect that one to be done. Just trying to help.

Here's a great example. Post #43 backs my point of look at the repetitive **** you ask all the time over and over again...

Not sure how deep you’re going to go, but if you’re just putting heads and a cam on a Lq4 short block, I can help you out.

Heads:
Mahle mls head gasket set
BTR hardened chromoly pushrods (need to measure for proper length)
BTR trunnion upgrade
PAC 1218 valve springs (should handle most cams)
Mahle tty head bolts

Cam:
BTR (choose based off what your needs are)
LS7 lifters
LS2 timing set
melling standard oil pump
New Oem lifter trays

Mahle gaskets to finish everything else off

8.1 oem injectors

Good tuner to tune it.

I personally would go with the a BTR cam kit. But that’s just me.

Could you tell me why you perfer them? I never had any experience. So the btr stage 2 is the way to go?

I only had one summit cam experience in my life. I ended up having a lifter failure that ruined a cam lobe. I’ve had 4 btr cams, and not one failure. So it’s just a personal preference. The cam you choose should be determined on what your using it in. Car, truck, auto, manual? Daily driver, weekend warrior, strip?

HV oil pumps are necessary for high hp engines set up with loose bearing clearances. They are also used on engines that have turbos or a supercharger. These applications use extra oil than a stock engine, thus the need for the higher volume.

HV HP oil pumps are used for the same purpose, but generally for max effort builds that are spinning extremely high rpm’s.

You’re building a combo that’s fairly basic, and has been done thousands of times. A standard volume pump is more than adequate. Too much oil flow, or too high of pressure can actually be a bad thing.

I'm sorry my thing is I be surfing the internet for information as and trying to learn but everybody has there own options on certain parts and combos etc I get lost, I got a general idea where I'm going with the build just wanted to double triple check on things before I order stuff and not be a waste

thank you for clarifying that for me, I be over thinking at times and just want help with my first ls build. I got nobody local that can help and guide me threw this so I appreciate you all
