Default SLP ZL-402 or any 402 - 500rwhp possible?

Would a 402 be able to put down 500 NA rwhp, with proper heads, cam, etc though a TH400, 12 bolt with 3.73's?

Lightbulb

Yes, a properly built/tuned 402 could potentially put down 500rwhp, not sure if the SLP version can though.

I was thinking about going with LQ9 heads, a 248/256 .610/.620 112 cam
I want a 500 rwhp window shaker

Your drivetrain is quite parasitic with a TH400 especially if you have a high stall + a non lockup converter. Couple that with a 12 bolt, I'd say with the set up you are intending on the Speed dyno you'd see about 460-470RWHP.

If you want 500 through your drivetrain, I think you need to go more aggressive. I'd go higher compression like 12:1, top quality Stage III LS6 heads and a bigger cam. If you went solid roller you'd be able to hit that mark much easier I think.

So SIII LS6 heads would be a better combo with a LQ9 402?
How big of a cam should I go with?

Dyno numbers are not the holy grail. My lasst car made 400rwhp through a TH400, 12-bolt, and slicks. It trapped 122mph though and ran consitent 11.0's.

We have a 395 car (all stroke) that made 506rwhp, but it is a MN6 Corvette.

If you're refering to LS1LT1 comment, then take it with a grain of salt.

SLP have a reputation of overpricing their products and overrating their outputs. And some members have had bad experiences with their custumers support in the past. So SLP bashing is something common here.

I don't see why their 402 could not achieve the numbers of another sponsor's 402. After all, it's just a 6.0L block stroked to 4.0" with Eagle forged components. Should be able to handle 500rwhp, and probably a lot more.

It all depend on the cam/heads/intake/headers/tb/tuning combo you'll put on it.

A little off topic but I have the following SLP products installed on my car:

SLP oil pump
SLP double row timing chain
SLP 160 thermostat
SLP 85mm MAF.
SLP lid.
SLP long tube headers, high-flow cats, dual-dual (OEM).
SLP HD steel driveshaft.
SLP adjustable torque arm.
SLP sub-frame connectors.

so far, I had zero problem with all of these. The headers hang out quite low but I never scrapped them (I'm not lowered though).

I went with Lunati for my 382 because at that time (last fall) Eagle were still fixing their first stroker assemblies. They seems to have cleared all the problems by now.
