Default Stroker guys inside..... Oil consumption Q+A within

Doing a lil research here with multiple setups.... Please post up the following info.

cubes
stroke/bore
intake(LS6, BBK, sheet metal, etc)
heads(supplier)
shop who built your setup(not NEEDED, optional)
average miles driven
average oil consumed
smoke... decel/accel etc etc

Just looking to see if different setups eat more oil than others and determine any trend in possible causes.

Thanks guys!!

Mine was using oil but we think (hope) it was the valve seals other wise it used quite a bit of oil. Texas Speed changed them for me and we they will be getting it going next week.

There seems to be a rumor that stoker engines consume oil. This is just not true. If it was properly built, the gaps set properly, seals are sealing ang gasktes are good, it should consume none to very little oil

Yep, I think the super-stroked engines ( +4.00 ) put a lot of side loading on the pistons and rings. Rumor is that this causes some blowby and thus the oil consumption.

cubes: 383 LS6 Aluminum Block
stroke/bore: 4.00 / 3.905, Lunati 4340 forged crank, Wesico forged reverse domes
intake(LS6, BBK, sheet metal, etc): LS6
heads(supplier): MTI 2R LS1 Heads
shop who built your setup(not NEEDED, optional): MTI
average miles driven: 200-400 miles a month, not driven below 50 degrees
average oil consumed: 1 quart every 500 miles under strip and also street conditions. Oil is changed prior every trip to the track. Engine hasn't seen over 500 miles on an oil change. I use a PF59 Delco filter and 6 quarts of Castrol GTX 10w-30.
smoke... decel/accel etc etc: none, a normal engine load up smoke in certain conditions.

cubes: 427
stroke/bore: 4.0/4.125
intake: LS6 first, now a FAST 90MM
heads: TEA
shop who built your setup: More Performance
average miles driven: about 7000/year
average oil consumed: 1 quart every tank of gas (between 100 and 250 miles depending on highway or track driving)
smoke: smokes on startup but I can't say if it smokes on accel/decel. I put a metco breather on the oil fill spout about a month ago but haven't noticed a difference in oil consumption. Compression/leakdown test are planned. The heads have about 5000 miles on them and the rest of the motor has about 19000 miles on it. It used oil before the new heads were installed. New heads didn't change anything. Originally I had to put a quart in every 1000 miles and it has steadily got worse. If it needs new rings I'll take it back to More, they've been a good shop to deal with. Also, there is no oil whatsoever under the car. It's not leaking.
