bent valve????
On startup the car has a loud popping noise from the exhaust only on the drivers side (true duals). Diagnostic check reads cylinder 1 misfire. The misfire and popping goes away after the car finally warms up. Did a compression test and cylinder one only got up to 60psi.
The exhaust: Stock manifolds with straight pipes exiting each side of the car in front of rear tires. no cats or mufflers.
Im figuring it would be a burned up or bent valve due to the exhaust being so open and cool air sucking back up and hitting the hot valve. But i have also heard that the ls1 is notorious for bending pushrods.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks.

Don't forget about the 02 sensors which will add fuel to relieve a lean condition.
Valve guides, cooling systems, valve seats and oil systems are responsible
for removing heat from the exhaust valve.
Open headers don't bent valves. You must have high combustion temperatures
due to an improper air/fuel ratio errored on the lean side.
