Default PP Stage 2 6.0L LS6 heads vs stock OEM LS6 heads?

Wondering what type of gains I would see with these PP LS6-style heads(w/64cc chambers) + a mid-size stealth type cam on an otherwise stock 2001 Z06. (Going for a stealth setup).

Wondering if they flow enough better than the stock heads I already have to make it worth it.

A huge difference will be there.
First off there is no reason to go 64cc's. Go 62 or 59 and get yourself some compression.
Next you get VERY good parts with the PP heads, vs the stock half decent stuff on the LS6 heads. The springs would have to be changed if your running any decent sized aftermarket cam.
The PP heads will also flow 30+ CFM's better then stock LS6 heads and they dont go turbulant as early.

JZ what about QC with the PP
A few guys have had bad valve jobs, seals etc....

I'd buy these heads in a Sec. but I dont wanna pull them a month after they go on and have to send them back because of a poor valve job/seal etc...

Not trying to knock Gunnar or PP,this is just stuff I've seen on here from time to time.No one wants to pull heads right after they've gotten installed...

Well this is actually a used set I am looking into that Patriot will freshen up. They are advertised as 64cc but when Gunnar looked at the pictures he said they actually appear to be 64cc. Should I stay away from that for my purposes? Remember this would be through 100% stock exhaust including stock manifolds and a medium size stealth cam. Thanks!

They do appear to be 64. If you send them in, we can of course verify this. We can also mill them around .012" and this will take them down to 62cc which should present no issues with a mild cam.

I wouldn't waste my time with heads and stock exhaust. As for the cam, the CheaTR is your best bet.

Just bad luck. This is very rare and the biggest cases were when PP was just starting the LS1 stuff.
How many 427/434 builds have you seen get messed up from good companies. Mistakes happen.
I myself wouldn't advoid PP for this reason as it is very rare and could happen on any set of heads that isn't put together correctly.
At least if there is a problem Gunner does what he can to make it right.

Gunnar has the QC stepped up in the last few months..Valve jobs/Seals etc,I'm sure your aware of this and again I'm not trying to knock you, just wanna make sure IF I buy PP LS6 style heads that when I put these on I wont have to remove them 2 weeks later..

No issues with welding the chambers anymore too?
IMO for 1195.00 u cant beat your head

I agree to some extent. The stock exhaust will make the heads perform not as well. Throw in a Cheater cam, and a set of heads with stock exhaust and you can make some nice gains. Not as much as a H/C+all bolton car but still nice gains.
Add 01/02 exhaust manifolds and a cutout and you can have a nice cheep build that sounds stock until you open the cutout.

Similar.
Different heads and hooker catback but no headers.

Over the last year or so we have made many changes in our products. Along with these changes, have came changes in production and QC methods.

The issues Ive seen lately are from old heads. Not the newer ones. I personally have went through two sets of Patriots heads without any problems. I recently added the 2nd set to my 408. Both sets being from this year. Just to clear things up, I had stage II LS6 heads on my stock block, I now have Patriot stage III LS6 heads on my 408. No valve issues, no spring issue. no nothing.

I will say this about patriot. Even if i don't buy these heads my short experience with them so far is excellent. I called two times and both time Gunnar answered the phone right away and was happy to answer my questions. Secondly, i think its awesome that the refresh their heads with new springs, valves, seals & flow numbers + shipping for a mere $150! This on top of the fact that their heads are super affordable to begin with! Great service, great prices, and from everything I have seen great performers!

Now regarding doing H/C and keeping stock exhaust.Sure it could be a little faster with headers but think of how awesome of a Daily Driver a 400rwhp Z06 will be that sounds and drives like a stocker. I am loving the sound of the stock exhaust. Its so quiet I can actually hear my music details again! The car drives so easy quiet and smooth like a lexus and than when you gun it it will come to life and be able to haul *** (but still remaining relatively quiet) Plus just the fact of being stealth and being able to surpise people or make people think your stock

With heads & stealth cam i should be able to hit 400rwhp and probably be able to run mid 11's@120 in the Z. At the same time it will be a perfectly comfy super easy to driver daily cruiser. Sounds perfect to me
