If you go to their website, you can spec any lobe lift you want in .05" increments.

I just picked less exhaust lift because it seems unnecessary since the valves are already small, so there isnt much shrouding going on.

I gave intake a bit more lift because the valve is so huge (2.08") in a 3.905" bore and it's heavily shrouded.

Start it up like I am with nothing reinstalled to see if the whine goes away before you buttoning it all back up.

Hmmm, I am still on the same cam retainer plate from 1999. The gasket looked a bit flat.

I think I might order a new one and postpone the buttoning up.

Also, anyone know about the n-motion timing sets?

I replied in the other thread - but get something with a torrington bearing. It takes some of the scrub off the cam rotation. Nice upgrade.

Saw your reply, thanks.

Yeah I only wanted it for the t-bearing and the price was very attractive indeed.

Yep, everything off. I start it, let it idle for like 5 seconds to get the oil pressure up, do a quick back and forth rev 1500 to 2500 rpms then shut it back down. You can hear me revving it at the end of the video and there is not a hint of whine.

You should post this in the comp thread.

Your cam is a paper weight if they don't warranty it. May as well just take $380 and light it on fire. I'd fight hard and slam them everywhere.

I had the n-motion dual set fitted, when taken off after 10-15000km it had stretched.
I fitted a Cloyes extreme duty C5R chain with hex a just gears, trick flow damper bracket & LS2 damper...huge mind weight lifted.

send Martin@Tick a email he is dealing directly with a Comp Cams rep named Billy. He is already well aware of the whining cam issue. Comp is replacing my cam free of charge.

I know i will be going with a Cam Motion cam for my build. I think it is ridiculous how Comp blows people off, like there isn't a problem. It took Martin as the vendor to open their eyes. If i were Tick, i would drop Comp as my grinder. This is going to cost them business. Who cares if they warranty the cam, you still have to eat the labor and materials to re-install it. And why would i want another possible junk cam under warranty? I'd ask for a refund and take my business elsewhere.

I would assume they would know this problem if one person knew it. I sent Alex from comp a link to this thread along with pics.

I will as well, I just want a refund now if that's even possible. Don't want to put another possible bad cam in there if the QC is not any better.
