Default What is this stuff inside my intake tube *pic*

Im trying to fix my rough idle so I took off my Intake and MAF to check to see if the throttle body is dirty. I found this blue/white stuff in the tube that connects the MAF to the TB. Sorry for the shitty pic its off my cell phone, I cant find my digital camera.

Better pics posted a few posts down

What the hell is this stuff?

Not a real great pic, but it looks to me like wiper fluid. Is it crystalized any?

Do you drive your car in the winter? Do they salt the roads where you live? Could be some crystallized salt. Taste it and let us know...lol, j/k.

Its sticky and you can wipe it off with fingers, idk what it could be. How could anything from the outside get past the airfilter and MAF.

It could possibly be some sort of white lithium grease use by a previouse owner.

If your not the original owner. It looks exactly like old drying lithium. I would clean it out than run some top end cleaner through it to blow any of that crap that may have gotten sucked in out.

Hell, it looked blue in the first pic! It does look like white lithium. Original owner may have used it to get the intake hose on the MAF or TB a little easier.

Yeah i would hate to get that crap inside my motor. That just shows you not everyone thinks about things before they do it. If you havnt allready check the plugs do a fuel system service. Sea foam should clean that and the carbon deposites right out good luck.

I have some of the same **** on my TB and on my intake tube. It was kind of powdery when I cleaned it up.

I assumed road salt like previously stated.

This seems like the only logical explination. idk how anything else could get past the airfilter.
