Default A&A F-Body Vaccum pump kit installed

Charlie,
I just finished installing your kit on my 02 427 SS. It fits perfect with the A/C. There are no major issues with clearance for the F-body. We had to adjust the radiator and heater hoses, but not a big deal. No cutting, grinding, welding, or fabrication, just bolt in and build your lines. Makes GREAT vacuum !! I highly recomend this kit to anyone.

I'm interested!

Any measureable HP gains or ET gains at the track?

How much did it cost, if you don't mind saying?

I think it was around 800. Check with Charlie at A&A corvettes on official price. We just Dynoed the car yesterday and we seen an 18 hp gain at 17 inches of vacuum.

You will have to call A&A and ask for Charlie, He is the one working on the kits.

How reliable are these pumps on a street car?

Looks good, I'd rather spend that money on a dry sump though.

I don't think the main goal is HP/ET gains, the pump setup costs around $1000 IIRC.

JoeyGC5, 1 to 2 inches at idle and up to 19 at 6800 rpm, on street setting. 5 to 7 at idle and 32 at 6800 rpm on race setting. Also the HP gain we saw was on the street setting!!

SmaknaSS, My car is also a street car but we have only had it on for about 2 weeks.

Have you seen any issues with oil pressure? I have read where some engine builders like Reher-Morrison don't recommend using a vacuum pump with a wet sump oil system.

I was told not to use my aerospace pump on the street because it could cause some oil starvation issues with my piston pins etc.. also its just like any other pump.. It will wear out over time..

Do you have to run a catch can with this, and does anyone know if it will fit on a truck ??
