Default Rear Wheel Horsepower Gains out of Roller Rockers???

I was wanting to put roller rockers on my car and was wanting to know what kind of gains I would see in horsepower? The car makes 422rwhp and 389tq right now. What are the best rockers for the money, because im not rich lol and fit the best. I seen that some need valve cover spacers and that maybe fine. All suggestions appreciated.

i guess it would depend on how much bigger RR's u get, but i wouldnt expect anything more then 10-15 HP. i know some places advertise that u will see more then that but i wouldnt expect much more then that, and there supposed to free up the valvetrain and make everything run smoother which would be more important to me then the added power.IMO

5 to 10 Hp is about what you should gain over stock rockers with the same ratio..

5 if your lucky, all the aftermarket rockers are heavier then the stockers too,so be sure your valvesprings are up for the added weight.

Well the Harland sharp rockers are not heavier they are light. It damn near takes two of them to weight what one stock one does. just my .02 cents

Weight has nothing to do with it, its the rotary moment of inertia and depending on the rocker they can be lower than stock. The Cranes are lower than stock, but weigh more due to the better needle bearings.

If you went to the Cranes, there are no modifications required if you have center bolt valve covers.

Stock Rocker - 140.1g overall, 8.2g at the valve
H/S 1.7 Non adj - 132.8g overall, 22.5g at the valve
Crane LS1 1.8 - 149.1g overall, 22.3g at the valve

Happy motoring.

So Harland Sharpes or Cranes would be the best. Which one clears the stock valve covers the best? Thank You. Been thinking about the Harland Sharps.

The Crane's clear with NO modifications. The H/S require some clearancing<grinding>.

I have run the Cranes on the stock 241 casting head and the Dart 205 heads, neither required any work or baffle removal, etc.

Is this a typo, i.e. it should be 28.2 not 8.2?

i think its supposed to be 8.2,the stockers are very light over the valve.Thats why with aftermarket rockers you need to be sure your still maintaining valve control at high rpm.

NOT a typo, 8.2g at the valve. The stock rockers are very light in this area. I haven't weighed an LS7 rocker, but the tip has some cut out areas that the LS1 rockers don't so they look to be even lighter.

Both vavle covers had to be cleared but was easily done with a dremel. Just knock out the round bumps and some parts of the valve cover and the baffles will need to taken out.

On the passenger side head toward the front, I had to get the inner sidewall of the head dremel out, not too much. The drivers side went in fine.
We installed the H/S on a friends Z06 and he had to do a good amount of clearancing, not my idea of a 'bolt-on'.

I bought some harland sharps, can't chance getting a needle bearing coming apart and getting those little bastards in the engine when i'm at 7,000 rpm under boost. =)

yeah thats the only thing about the stockers, unless you send them to nasty performance to get different bearings then you risk loosing the little bastards in your engine.

I read this from your website (what manufacturer claims) "Crane Cams Gold-Race, full-roller aluminum rockers for the LS1/LS6 engine family add up to 20 horsepower over stock!" $399.88

Is that true? Any dyno thread to back this up? If its true, ill get a set. 20 ponys for 400 bucks is awsome.

if you could gain 20 horse from roller rockers then your stock ones need to be somehow seizing up and not workin good.
