Default I want 400rwhp..need help!!

My current mods are: LS1 hot cam, ASP pulley, RPM dyno tune, Jet long tube headers, 3" ory, Borla adjustible cat-back, lid, ported stock TB, 3000 stall, stock 2.73 gears, 160 thermostat, !AIR, !EGR. Before the ported TB and 160 thermostat, I made 327rwhp and 364 rwtq.. and that was with the motor running hot because I didn't have my 160 thermostat in there yet and also the ory was banging on the underside of the body (which I was told can cause the computer to retard the timing because it thinks it's knocking). So currently since I fixed the ory banging and installed a 160 thermostat and ported the TB...I think I'm currently about ~330-335rwhp and ~370-375rwhp......Anyways could I hit 400 rwhp with my set-up if I add a set of ls6 heads and an ls6 intake and some more tuning? what do you guys recommend? here's a link to my dyno graph.... https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/527649-my-dyno-results.html

yeah bro those numbers are way low, with a 6spd ls1, offroad x, dumped bullets, free mods, and hooker super comp lt headers, i was putting 355/365 on the ground....with the hot cam you shuold be doing a bit better than me...

does my dyno graph look ok?? I also thought my hp was too low. I wonder why it's that low. I was told that a higher stall converter takes some hp away and also the stock 98 heads aren't exactly the best flowing heads like the 99-02 heads. Also the ory problem could have caused that. I plan on taking it back there in the next month or so for a few more dyno pulls and see if we can diagnose the problem.

if your car was a 6spd u would probably be making around 375 or so to the wheels. The stall is eating up some of your HP. Put some D/R's on and go to the track and see waht kind of 1/4 times u run. That will show if your car is actually down on power. I bet with the TC locked on the dyno you would make over 350 to the wheels.

Those numbers look low to me too. You should do more than that with just a lid and a catback.

I don't think LS6 heads and intake and going to add 70 hp . 30 at most.

Honestly i would probably just add a more aggressive cam and heads package. On the other note, those numbers do seem extremely low, so i would figure out your problem there before going in and adding things. Could your o2 sensors be bad? Did the tuner delete all of the AIR and EGR codes when they were all removed?

the o2 sensors could have been bad because the day after the dyno tune the car threw some codes and I went back and he read the codes and it said that they were fried so I went and got some new one's from the GM dealership down the street and put them in. So hopefully that was the problem. I'm not sure if I want to get a bigger cam because I plan on putting a supercharger or sts turbo kit on the car in the next couple of months.. along with the ls6 heads...and I have heard that the hot cam is a pretty good boost cam. any thoughts??

I was always under the impression that the hotcam was more of a cam for sound and not so much power, and i've never read about cams being used with boost so i'm honestly not sure what would be best so i cannot answer that question. I'm on a budget so i'm also going to be using LS6 heads, but if you're not on a budget you might look in the FI section to see what heads those guys recommend.

Hey man i dont have too much insite on your problem but that i can agree your numbers are way too low. Definitely figure out how your o2's are working and get a new tune, but I have also just put in some LTs and ORY and am looking for suggestions on how to fix the banging. So how did you fix yours and what was the outcome?

What is the specs on the cam? Your #'s seem way to low considering you have headers, kind of interesting how the torque just kind of plummets. With some worked heads you should be able to reach your goal-if you figure out what's going on with your current tune. clean maf, check plugs wires, o2 sensors cats, rear o2's, iat sensor.
