Default valve seals shot looking for new heads

alright heres the deal. car smokes after it sits awhile on start up if i give it gas since its cammed i have to to keep it from stalling. Im thinking its valve seals. I was thinking instead of replacing the valve seals y not get new heads since they have to be off. i know AFR is the best when it comes to port design but i wanted feed back from what others have done. i could get LS6 heads or port the stock ones. Whats gonna give me a nice boost in numbers and still keep the car a daily driver. i now a performance head is gonna net more power but does the stock head flow enough? Cam is a F13 Futral, and im mid process of installing a NX 150 shot. Thanks

You don't have to remove the heads to swap out the valve seals. If you're set on getting a set of heads though, AFR's would be ideal, but LS6 are also a good choice. They won't net you near as much as a nice set of AFR's, but you will see a gain for the price you can get them for. I'm talking about an untouched set of LS6 heads, if they're ported, then you will see close to the same numbers as the AFR's. One question, have you had your car tuned since the cam install?

As mentionned, you don't need to remove heads to do seals.
If you are swapping heads, PRC stage 1 or PP stage 1 (LS2/LS6/243 casting) are a good choice.
With that cam you could even run .045 gasket for quench tightening and a little bump in SCR. (.045 is equal to almost 2 points reduction in chamber size)

You want to replace both cylinder heads for want of a $35 valve seal package and two hours of your time? I like your way of thinking.

If you decide to go with a set of heads, we have some great pricing on our CNC ported 243 heads. Since you already have your springs, we can do a set with OEM 2.00"/1.55" valves for only $845.00. If you would like just a set of stock 243's we can do them with the non-sodium valves for $400.00.

The 243 is a stock LS6/LS2 head that we port. There is no core charge required. Please let us know if you have any questions.
