Default Raughammer, Nine Ball, faster67 I Would like your opinions.

I ordered this cam from Thunder Racing a month or so ago, Lunati Cam 221/224 .558 .560 @ 114 . With 941 springs. They have redone their web site and no longer sell this cam. I tried E-mailing them to ask why they dropped this cam but no answer. I have two questions that you might be able to shed some light on. 1. Why would you think they dropped this cam? 2. As soon as I finish my clutch install I'm installing this cam, was it a poor choice for my car? I talked a little with Nine Ball before I ordered it but here is some information. I use the car for track 95% of the time, no emissions testing here, shoot nitrous, will be porting & polishing heads after installing the cam the rest is listed in sig. The car is a M6 I will eventually go into the bottom end and put in forged parts so I can dump BIGGER shots of nitrous in. Can you guys give me pros and cons of this cam please? Thanks for all the help past and now.

I have the same cam (on a 113 LSA) in my car. I make 408 rwhp, 385 rwtq through an automatic with 3.73 gears. It will dyno within a couple of hp of a B1, T1 or C1 cam. Once I get a few tuning issues worked out, I will be in the 415 level or better. The split duration and added LSA will make it ideal on nitrous.

Tony is right. Thunder just redid the website and it was left off because it isn't one of the top selling cams. They still sell it, but just it isn't listed on the webpage.

It is still an excellent cam and it will work really well with your nitrous setup. Don't think because they took it off the page that means it is a bad cam. LOL

Thanks for the encouragement guys. So far I have the old clutch out and ready to put the new on in. I noticed that some of the head bolts will be easier to get from the bottom with the bell housing out. So I am starting to take the top end of the engine out. I'm going to install the cam first and seeing I am going the rout of taking the heads off I then will port and polish them re-install them and then finish the clutch install after that. I also have to install the 160 thermostat, shift skip eliminator, paint the rotors, trans brace, and a few other parts. So this is going to take about a month or two to get all of this stuff finished. Then I'll be ready to install a new rear end by that time the track will be open. I'll let ya know how things are going. I also have a few tips now on how to get to some real pain in the *** parts.

How do i like that cam?
I like it a lot.. especially for your chosen goals.
What I dont like are those springs. They are...well, marginal in my opinion for your application. Folks luck with them have been kind of a "hit and miss".

Camwise? Good choice. (IMO)
Good luck.

Looks like an awesome cam for you. Maybe it just didn't sell well or something <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">

I still think its a good cam for your application, go ahead and use it. They probably didn't sell a whole lot of them, thats probably why its no longer listed. Their single pattern cams are more popular most likely.
