you might need a different length pushrod.

Mine sounds the same when i first start up the car. But after a min and it warms up the sound goes away, does yours go away after it warms up? I checked all my rockers and they were still torqued to spec. Im running 7.4 pushrods and the length is fine. I left one of my powersteering bolts off because it was a pain in the *** and ls1howto sugested to leave it out. But i dont know what the noise is either.

I don't think that a pushrod would do that either. It almost sound like when the engine is shaking that the header may be hitting something and making the noise. The tick is not consistant so I don't think it's the valvetrain at all.

Mine only does it on start up and after a min it goes away until the next time i start it. Even if the engine is hot and i restart it, will make the same noise for a couple min. then it goes away. I dont think it is an exhaust leak though.

it still makes the noise fully warmed up. ive checked all the rockers and there all fine. in person its louder and really doesnt sound like an exhaust leak. im going to pull the heads tomarrow and checkit out.

Before you take the heads off I'd check all the easy stuff. Pull all the pushrods and make sure they are all strait (roll them on a flat work bench, just like picking a cue stick in a shitty bar). Make sure all your header bolts are tight. Make sure the headers aren't hitting the K-Member or anything else. I'd hate to pull my heads, just to find out I had a loose header bolt!
Good Luck, keep us posted

Car is at paint shop until tomorrow but then i will check the plugs. But the noise sounds like it is comming from the valve cover on the drivers side. I was thinking it was the powersteering because i did not but that pita bolt back in so maybe it was moving a little.

Hey Long Beach, your problem may be in the AIR system if you left it hooked up after your header install. The one way check valve flutters (ticks) due to the increased pressure from the LTs vs. stock manifolds. Easy way to tell would be to block it off and see if the ticking goes away.

If you disconnected AIR, then disregard.

I never thought to check the air because i still have mine so i will try blocking it off and see if that helps. I still havent got arround to checking plugs and rockers again but will do that over the christmas break. Thanks for the heads up BDB
