Default Should small amounts of Misfire be expected after cam and header swap with no program

I've got a 01 Trans Am 6sd with a B1 cam, Mac headers with ORP. Just installed TR-55's gapped @.60. The car has NO programing. Im getting small amounts of Misfires on all 8 cylinders. About 2 - 10 before it resets and starts the count over. Is this normal or is there somthing wrong? I has set a SES light for Misfire when the plugs where gapped @ .50, but since I regapped them I haven't got another SES light but Im still getting Misfires on all cylinders.
What do you Guys think?
Jeff

Will these missfires cause a loss of performance also? Just curious because my heads/cam/pulley/intake install is lacking in midrange and top end and I get those missfire codes also.

The misfires are normal and go away quickly above idle. It sounds like your misfires may be even lower than average.

I've got the B1 in my '99 motor w/TR55's gapped at 0.57" and exact same issue.

F8lpony, you might look real hard at that aftermarket pulley, from what ive seen on this site, it could cause your running problems. Also what stage are your heads, if they are ported too big this could give up power in your usable range.

The misfire code is often set by cam installs. Most of the time, these are not real misfires, but only how the computer is perceiving the way the car is running with the new cam.
Programming is a great idea. You really ought to look into it.
Good Luck,

After I got my cam installed w/o programming I was getting 2-10 misfires per cyl. Some would read 0 while others read 4-6 usually. Spike would be 10. I was told by many that this is normal after a cam install. I then had MTI raise the idle and remove the P0300 misfire code.

As others have suggested you may want to get programming, but since you have a M6 you can raise your idle by drilling the TB or using the idle set screw (would try this first) to increase to about 850 rpm. Just a thought.
