Re: Borla vs SLP Dual-Dual cat-backs
First off let me say that they are both excellent catbacks but the SLP dual/dual is VERY quiet in comparison to the Borla! if you want loud get the Borla, if you want to sound stock get the SLP!

Jay hit the nail on the head. I've track-tested my SLP dual/dual three times now, and I've yet to get a decrease in ET or increase in MPH w/ the cutout open. It flows very well. Keep your eyes open in the classifieds, and you might even post up for one. I bought mine used w/ 5,000 miles on it for $200 plus shipping!

Jay and Trevor,
Thanks for your input!
Trevor,
Did you notice a difference in performance between the SLP exhaust and the stock exhaust?
Jim,
Thanks for the offer. I'll let you know after I do some more research.

There is virtually no performance difference among the 3" catbacks (Borla, Corsa, B&B, SLP, etc....) so pick one based on looks, sound, and material(Stainless vs. Aluminized steel).

I originally went with the 3.5" Mufflex on my car, and it flowed well. However, it was just too loud for my liking. The car performs just as well w/ the SLP as it did w/ the Mufflex, but at my power level the 3.5" pipe isn't needed. The SLP dual/dual is awesome because it still keeps the car pretty quiet w/ headers and no cats, and there is not ANY raspiness w/ no cats on the car.

Re: Borla vs SLP Dual-Dual cat-backs
Good day everyone! Just want to post my ideas
on Exhaust sound. It may be misleading when you guys say [stock] sound. A stock sounding
sportscar = the Vette! Every SS sounds like a
muscle car when you turn the key. So, you can
compare the [loudness] or [tone] of these
exhaust systems, but using the word 'stock' sound
is way off base. I use SLP's quad/quad system...
I love the power, but the sound is very close to
some professional road racing cars when the
throttle opens up...almost Ferrari-like!

The Borla is better if you want to adjust tones....the dual dual is a great sounding exhaust over all no matter what you do....
I wish I had mine back...

Re: Borla vs SLP Dual-Dual cat-backs
when i bought my flps used i traded my loudmouth for his borla straight up since he was selling his car and just needed a catback to put on the car.....overall i think im glad i did it because of its adjustability....i think the loudmouth would have just been way to loud with offroad FLP's...anyway i have the borla wide open now and it is just plain loud im gonna cap it up here soon because it sounds a lot quieter fully capped up and i dont need any unwanted attetion from the popo
