Re: I need a no BS opinions
i was really set on a tr224 on a 112 but got antsy at the last sec. so maybe i should jut get it an be done with it, i just dont want to run into bad idle probs(A4) i cant fix with tb drilling ot trooper mod.
plus i really dont want to spend 450+ on cam only when i can get a custom grind or a used one and use new 918's and stock retainers for "around" that price. on that note anyone got a tr224 or t1 they are selling

Re: I need a no BS opinions
220/220 113 will be a good daily driver. I'd use the comp XE lobes with ~.563 lift or buy the TR 220 cam on a 112. The TR 224 is on nice lobes, so I would assume the TR 220 uses the same ones.
I went with 114 LSA for a little better idle and to bias my power on the top end.

I had the T1 cam and my car idled fine on first startup when cold.. It was the warm starts it surged for about 15secs and then stopped at 950rpm..

With the 224/112 cam, the only time you might run into some surging problems are when the engine is cold. Once it's up to temp, it will idle just fine. I'm running the Comp XE-R 224 grind, and I will occasionally have some mild surging problems before the car reaches full operating temp. Once it has reached operating temp, I NEVER have any problems w/ an idle at 800.
If you're wanting a cam that will work better with your Vig 2800, I would try out the Thunder 220/220 on a 112 LSA. You'll be very safe on any idle issues, and both HP and TQ should peak a little lower than the 224/224. That cam should have some NICE mid-range power, and I would look for peak HP around 6,200 or so. That's just a guesstimate based on the specs. One of the guys from Thunder could give you a better idea. I think the TR220 cam w/ a 112 LSA would be a perfect daily-driver cam with NO issues. There's my $.02 worth.
