Most people find NGK works the best for them, but others have used Autolite or Champion with lesser results though. I tried Champions, but found better throttle response with NGK.

The problem with the stock plugs though, is that the platinum creates a hot spot in the combustion chamber, making spark retard more likely, and the platinum discs on them often burn up and the gaps open up really high. When I pulled the stock plugs on my LT1 almost all the discs were missing and as a result the gaps were at .070 and higher! Stock plugs just flat out suck, I noticed a huge difference in both my LT1 and LS1 when I went to NGKs.

I have tr-55's in my formula and they so far are rockin. Awesome throttle response with them. I have tr-6's in the SS since I'm running a tnt kit and it starts hard on heat soak and doesn't idle as well or quite have the throttle response as the tr-55's. But on the juice, its the right choice.

He is now running NGK copper.

I use the Beru Silverstone plugs. They are great. They suposedly conduct much more spark than any other plug because they use a copper electrode. I pulled them off my car after 30,000. and they still look good. I got them from Breathless performance. Click on the link and check them out. They are really expensive but they are the best.

They use a silver electrode not copper. Sorry, I just got out of a long day at work.
